A developer who worked on the Uncharted series says the success of the set pieces in the second game had a negative impact on the third game. In an interview with FRVR, Benson Russell – who was at Naughty Dog for nearly a decade and worked as a game designer on Uncharted 1-3 and The Last of Us – explained that only one or two set pieces were planned for Uncharted 2, most notably the train sequence in Tibet which leads to the train hanging over a cliff.
