1 month after launch, my favorite indie Sims 4 competitor has sold 1 million copies – and only 170 "naked Charlies" showed up uninvited
Paralives, the vibrant life sim now rivaling EA's own life sim gem, The Sims 4, is racking up quite the community after just a month in the wild – one that now boasts over a million fans, in fact. The recent indie release's developer, Paralives Studio, reveals as much in a new post aptly dubbed "1,000,000 copies" on Steam. After thanking players for their support and promising "to keep improving the game thanks to all your suggestions and feedback," the team goes on to unveil some fun statistics. First, it looks back at the six patches and hotfixes that have arrived since Paralives' May 25 launch. Then, it covers the life sim's average daily players: a whopping 80,000, just last week. Folks playing have spent on average 11 hours or so in-game as well, sent in 350,000 feedback and bug reports, and created 22,000 mods for the Steam Workshop – now that's impressive. Doubly so as devs have spoken out in support of modding (yes, even NSFW mods), and it appears that fans have been very receptive to that. 1,000,000 COPIES SOLD ????????we’re incredibly grateful for all of your support, reviews, and feedback this past month! thank you a million times ❤️ pic.twitter.com/nt1Q98rXbsJune 24, 2026 There are some amusing stats in there, too. A good 170 "naked Charlies" have popped up in people's games (unprompted, might I add). In case you missed the whole Charlie situation, it involved a bug in which a nude man could "appear in your household if, after giving birth, you exit without saving," as Paralives Studio previously put it. He was named Charlie, and boy, did he cause some chaos in many a random Para's home. The devs conclude with an amusing mystery stat: how many players have married Jason and broken his once-happy family up. If you don't get it yourself, I suggest giving "Paralives Jason" a quick Google – the man is fine. Comments are as funny as you might expect as well, with one fan exclaiming, "Poor Jason!" Others commend the indie team for its hard work on the life sim… a sentiment I can certainly add to myself. Paralives is undeniably a solid entry to the genre, and I can attest this – heck, I've already managed to land nearly 100 hours in it, and that's between the plethora of other games I spend far too much time in.
