Warhammer 40,000: Mechanicus 2 locks in release date, and it’s almost here already

Warhammer 40,000 is one of my favorite franchises to date, and also one that, unfortunately, doesn't often get great games based on it, even though there are so many of them out there. But Mechanicus always stood out as an amazing 40K game and a fantastic 4X tactics title, and its sequel seems to be a straight improvement over the original. It's also coming out next Thursday, May 21. That was confirmed in the latest leader deep dive published today on YouTube. For the longest time, the devs refused to give out an exact release date, and all of a sudden decided to just drop it a week before the game actually launches.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i91NnVB7CWY Warhammer 40,000: Mechanicus 2 seems to be a direct upgrade over its predecessor, even if it is thematically the same. Your primary faction is the eponymous Martian faction that holds an ever-stronger grip on the Imperium, not least because of its focus on archeotech, age-old and lost technologies of former civilizations, including Humanity's past self, that are above and beyond anything the Imperium of Man possesses in its present state. The biggest difference between the sequel and the first game is that you'll also have a chance to play the forsaken Necrons, a people that parted with their flesh and turned into robotic, mostly mindless monstrosities that nevertheless have and can use their advanced weaponry, thus posing a major threat to the Imperium. The graphics, the improvements to the 4X gameplay, and these unique spins on Warhammer 40,000's iconic factions are just some of the things that I'm excited about, and I cannot wait for next week to hit so I can hop into the title and utterly lose myself in the dark, twisted corridors of the Necrons' Tomb Worlds.
