Hello, everyone.
This is Tomo, director for GrandChase Classic.

Today is the 5th anniversary of GrandChase Classic.

I have spent many days trying to figure out what to say for the 5th anniversary.
I rewrote this message countless times, but in the end, I realized the best thing to do was simply express how I truly feel.

So, I want to deliver my sincere words as another person rather than a developer.

I still remember the time when I joined the GrandChase Classic team again.

I was more nervous than glad.

I knew what responsibilities awaited me in bearing the cherished memories of many players.

‘Can I really make players enjoy GrandChase again?’
‘Can I make players feel good about starting the game again?’

These words still remain in my heart even though many times have passed.

Working as the game developer, I’m most familiar with the times after the patch update.

Even after getting home, I simply couldn’t sleep.
I had to go on communities to check everyone’s reactions...
I was happy to see words of joy,
and words of discontent remained long in my mind.

Some days, maintenance took longer than expected due to bugs.
Some updates, I wished I was able to deliver better content.

I was afraid to check the community after some updates.
But I was overjoyed to see many players express their happiness at the patch.
I still remember laughing over a comment with the team, glad that the patch update was well received.

It always reminded me of the following.

‘Would things be different if I prepared just a bit more?’
‘Wouldn’t I be able to deliver a better patch if I just gave it a bit more time?’

Despite all this, everyone gave us one more opportunity.

“We’ll look forward to the next patch.”

“Please keep on updating the game.”

“I started the game again as part of nostalgia, and now I’m really enjoying the game.”

Such short comments have been a great support for us.

For us game developers, the fact that many players use their precious time for us has been a great motivation.

Therefore, I sometimes think of this.

It’s not us who kept GrandChase Classic going,
it’s the players, who have trusted us for 5 years, supporting us, criticizing us where we needed.

Players have brought friends over to the game,
created strategies to help out others,
and shared problems with the game.

Some players have said “I met my school friend again through GrandChase.”
While another said “I started the game again in hopes of meeting a friend again.”
I also saw someone say “I’m still playing even after getting married and raising kids.”

Every time I encounter such stories,
I feel that GrandChase Classic has transcended being just a game, but more like a place that connects the present with the cherished memories of players.

Although we created the game,
it is everyone who have created precious memories within the game.

Thank you.

The 5th anniversary is not the end, but a new beginning for us.

We will continue to build great characters,
create fun content,
and work harder to be closer to the expectations of everyone.

And on top of that,
we will strive so that GrandChase Classic isn’t just a game that is remembered only with nostalgia,
but a game that creates new precious memories together.

I hope that when we celebrate the 10th anniversary,
we can all smile and laugh and say “We've really come this far together.”

Today, we’re able to celebrate the 5th anniversary of GrandChase Classic all thanks to everyone.

Thank you for spending time with us for the past 5 years.

We won’t take everyone’s expectations as granted.
We’ll try our best to deliver the best game experience possible.

Thank you,

Director Tomo
