The Elder Scrolls 6 finally showing signs of life won't deter the Bethesda fan who is 132 days into making their own Daggerfall-style RPG
Bethesda recently breathed, or gently sighed, new life into The Elder Scrolls 6 by getting Xbox CEO Asha Sharma to tweet about a "live playthrough" of the game she apparently experienced in some form. The brief, top-level mention re-confirming the existence of the Skyrim follow-up some eight years after its announcement successfully whipped up the Elder Scrolls player base by obscuring its official subtitle behind eight loud asterisks, leading to a soft consensus on what that subtitle is. And yet, despite Xbox and Bethesda's collaborative effort to revive Elder Scrolls 6 discourse without actually saying anything of substance, not to mention the rebellious display put on by OneBGS Union in protest of Microsoft's recent layoffs, the intrepid indie developer making their own Daggerfall-style RPG isn't deterred, now 132 days into development. You might've caught wind of The Indie Scrolls through frequent updates posted to the apparently solo developer's Twitter account, or via this writeup from GamesRadar+'s Ashey Bardhan, but in case you hadn't, well, it's an indie take on the Elder Scrolls universe with beautiful pixel art and overall presentation reminiscent of The Elder Scrolls 2: Daggerfall. The latest update, shared on August 13, shows an armed and armored player character exploring a quaint farm, abruptly made less quaint by the protagonist's butchering of a poor little brown chicken by sword and fire. I'd say I'm impressed by the detail of the bloody chicken corpse, but frankly, I'm equally disturbed. It isn't clear when the project will release, but if we're going purely off the consistency and pace of updates shared with fans, I'd put my money on The Indie Scrolls coming out before The Elder Scrolls 6. Now that The Elder Scrolls 6 is playable, Bethesda's RPG nightmare of its own making is nearly over [/url]
