The Apartments: Sneak Peek

Hi goat burners!We've been hard at work recently brainstorming DEVOUR's next map. At present, we estimate it will be released during 2027. Read on for lore, concept art and a look at the map layout as it currently stands.Before we get into it - a quick notice that our merch store is due to go on hiatus from July 1st 2026. It's likely to re-open around the time the new map releases. Now, onto the good stuff...The Apartments will be the first map we've set in a big, modern city. This means it may feel more familiar to players than anything they've encountered previously in DEVOUR. Set in Brooklyn, New York, the map will feature Frank, a local mob boss who's been recruiting lackeys into the cult, as the possessed antagonist.Expect a rundown multi-story housing block with a variety of apartments, each with their own personality, as well as a ground floor shop/cafe. There will also be an outdoor area, including alleys and a subway exit. You might even spot a famous bridge in the distance...This time, movies like Candyman (1992) and various retro comic book villains have been particularly influential when it comes to the aesthetic and feel of the environment and Frank's design.Frank will embody all the confidence and physicality you'd expect from a mob boss. Since he'll be using his fists a lot, we've focused on making their appearance uniquely grotesque. Before we get into it - a quick notice that our merch store is due to go on hiatus from July 1st 2026. It's likely to re-open around the time the new map releases. Now, onto the good stuff...

The Apartments will be the first map we've set in a big, modern city. This means it may feel more familiar to players than anything they've encountered previously in DEVOUR.
