Tamashika from solo dev Quicktequila debuts on Xbox Game Pass
Edlgrd and developer Quicktequila announced that the hypnotic first-person shooter, Tamashika, is now available via Xbox Game Pass. Additionally, Tamashika’s first major content update debuted for all platforms, which adds the all-new Accelerate Mode as well as over 50 new segments in Transcend Mode, featuring speed-boosting mechanics and open-air “Village” environments. A full list of new content featured in the recent update can be found below: New Accelerate Mode: Players can now dive into an endless loop in Accelerate Mode and push the limits of their attention as the flow pulls them into a faster, more hypnotic trance with Tamashika. New Levels & Powerups: Transcend mode now welcomes 50+ new segments with fresh mechanics – fly across gaps using Jumpads, take Pills that boost speed and offer more grippy teleports. Step out of the tight corridors for a breath of fresh air in new Village sections. Players can expect tight shootouts, as well as hidden enemies and mechanics. Shuriken Saturdays: Players can experience the thrill of shuriken sections on special Saturdays. Collectables and Time Travel: The new Time Travel mechanic allows players to revisit previous levels to perfect their scores. Players must find and collect items that enable them to review performances and revisit older levels in the new Calendar Menu. Players can now collect and store up to 200 items. Improved Accessibility & Graphic Settings: Select a lower dosage for reduced effects and more muted colors with dynamic contrast. New 15µg dosage option for those looking for a stronger hit of visual fidelity. Graphics have also received a touchup, offering more physically accurate screenshake textures with new and improved menus. Quality of Life Improvements: Sample tracks in the Vibes Menu, featuring a new song titled “Soul Bird.” New language support is available for Portuguese, Brazilian Portuguese, Ukrainian, Polish and Russian. 120Hz support now available on PlayStation. Additional minor bugfixes, balancing and optimization have also been introduced. Tamashika is available now on PC via Steam, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch. Tamashika launched on April 10, 2026 for PC and consoles. Developed by Vidhvat Madan (Quicktequila) and published by Harmony Korine’s creative studio, Edglrd, Tamashika invites players into a psychedelic trance of shifting corridors, challenging them to master a “one gun, one blade” scenario where focus is the only path to survival. Madan’s work with the Lovely Planet series has already cemented him as a cult favorite, but Tamashika marks a culmination of a multi-year, multi-country journey for the developer that pushes his signature “flow state” design to its next level. Madan is an independent game developer and the founder and principal developer at quicktequila. He is best known as the creator of the psychedelic speedrunning first-person shooter Lovely Planet (published by tinyBuild), as well as the arcade-style title Tamashika. Check out more information on their official site here. Edglrd is a Miami-based creative studio founded by Harmony Korine. The studio develops original projects across film, games, technology, music, fashion, and experimental media, with a focus on bold, artist-led ideas that shape contemporary culture.
