S3 Preview #2 | Shattered Isles Revealed – A First Look at the New Gameplay Map

Following the reveal of the Skyshaker Cannon and the upgraded Battleship Building Rules, even more content from Myth of Empires: Throne Season 3, Era of the Shattered Seas, is ready to be unveiled.

In this latest preview, we're officially introducing Shattered Isles, the brand-new gameplay map coming to Season 3.

Designed as a new cross-server battlefield, Shattered Isles combines Boss encounters, Altar Summoning, regional gameplay mechanics, and more. Exploration, challenging powerful enemies, and competing for strategic objectives across the islands will create fresh opportunities for Guild cooperation and tactical decision-making.

New Gameplay Map – Shattered Isles

Shattered Isles primarily consists of one main island and three medium-sized islands, along with several surrounding outer islands. Players can enter the map across servers after reaching Level 50..

Unlike the open world, Shattered Isles is a standalone gameplay map focused on exploration, competition, and objective-based encounters.

All NPC enemies found on the islands are Dragon-Patterns creatures and cannot be tamed. To overcome the challenges awaiting on the islands, players must rely not only on their own strength, but also on close cooperation with their Guild members.

Boss Battles – Compete for Rewards and Season Points

During designated opening periods, a World Boss will spawn simultaneously on all four islands at a random time. When this happens, the system will issue a global announcement, giving Guilds time to assemble their members and contest the Boss.

Defeating a World Boss grants generous rewards, while participating Guilds can also earn Season Points based on the event rules.

If multiple Guilds participate in the same Boss encounter, Season Points will be awarded to the top three Guilds ranked by their share of total Boss damage. The greater a Guild's damage contribution, the more Season Points it will receive.

As World Bosses appear, the battles between Guilds for rewards and Season Points will become one of the defining conflicts on Shattered Isles.

Altar Summoning – Challenge Bosses on Your Own Terms

In addition to regularly spawning World Bosses, Shattered Isles introduces a new Altar Summoning system.

During designated time windows, Guilds can consume the required summoning items to summon a Boss directly through an Altar. Once a summon is completed, the Altar enters a cooldown period.

This system allows Guilds to choose when to initiate Boss encounters, giving them greater control over their own progression. Deciding the best time to summon, organizing participants, and planning follow-up actions will all become important strategic considerations.

Regional Mechanics – Strategy Matters More Than Ever

To deliver a more focused gameplay experience, Shattered Isles features several adjustments to regional mechanics and building rules.

The central area of the map is designated as a PvP zone, while the outer islands serve as PvE zones. Players may construct buildings in the PvE areas, but Boundary Markers and Territory Banners cannot be placed there, and structures will deteriorate more quickly. When not actively participating in combat, large vehicles can also be safely stationed within the outer PvE regions.

At the same time, Shattered Isles supports a larger player population than before, creating more opportunities for large-scale Guild conflicts and coordinated operations. With building restrictions and increased player participation, Guilds will need to carefully consider base placement, movement routes, and troop deployment.

Whether choosing defensive positions, planning travel routes, or organizing forces for Boss encounters, success will depend on a Guild's ability to coordinate battlefield positioning and overall strategic planning.

A Gameplay Experience Focused on Objective Control

Shattered Isles will also feature the Magistrate gameplay. Four seals required to craft the Magistrate Official Seal will be obtained by defeating the World Bosses found across the islands. After crafting the Magistrate Official Seal, players can participate in the subsequent County Battles.

To keep players focused on the core Shattered Isles experience, several standard gameplay systems will not be available on this map, including Monster Sieges, Treasure Maps, Warrior Dispatch, Mineral Veins, and Mining Hut gathering structures.

Once players enter Shattered Isles, their focus will shift toward exploration, Boss encounters, reward acquisition, and Guild cooperation, creating a more concentrated gameplay loop centered around competing for strategic objectives.

New Map, New Challenges

The arrival of Shattered Isles introduces an entirely new direction for Season 3 gameplay.

From scheduled World Boss spawns and Altar Summoning to regional mechanics and updated building rules, Shattered Isles brings a diverse range of new systems that create deeper strategic gameplay and more intense competition between Guilds.

Participating in Shattered Isles not only provides valuable rewards, but also offers opportunities to earn Season Points through Boss encounters, helping Guilds gain an advantage throughout the season.

That concludes S3 Preview #2.

As Myth of Empires: Throne Season 3, Era of the Shattered Seas, approaches, we'll continue unveiling more seasonal gameplay features, new systems, maps, and optimization updates. Stay tuned!
