Rankers' Trait Selection Directions

‘Game of Thrones: Kingsroad’ has not stabilized the supply and demand for equipment and artifacts yet, so a definitive standard build is not yet established. Equipping 3 pieces activates the 3-set effect, while 6 pieces activate the 6-set effect. With a total of 7 equipment slots available, players can choose either one 6-set effect or two 3-set effects. Meanwhile, ‘Secondary Set’ effects are activated and upgraded through Research. Only one secondary set effect can be active at a time. Research Tier 1 grants the 3-set effect, and Tier 2 grants the 6-set effect. Accordingly, all characters build their set effects using one Secondary 6-set combined with either one Gear 6-set or two Gear 3-sets. Note that the efficiency of Gear Sets scales based on the tier of the equipped gear, so it is highly recommended to use Gear Sets for your main set effects. ▲ Set effects increase depending on the grade of the equipped gear (Photo: Created by Gukmin Tree) Set effect ‘Savant’ The Savant 3-set constantly increases Rage Acquisition rate and increases Attack Power for 6 seconds upon using a skill. The 6-set effect significantly increases skill damage, reaching its maximum efficiency when chaining two or more skills together. Furthermore, the 6-set effect grants a chance to recover Rage and reduce skill cooldowns upon defeating enemies. Due to these characteristics, the Savant set is more useful in the late game when skill cycles run seamlessly, rather than the early stages when Rage is lacking. In fact, a look at the Momentum Rankings and Elite Hideout Rankings proves its top-tier performance, as the majority of high-ranking players employ Savant as their main set. ▲ The Rank 28 Savant set effect when fully equipped in Legendary gear (Photo: Gukmin Tree) Higher Skill Frequency ‘ Tempest’ The Tempest set is designed around relentlessly driving non-stop attacks. By maintaining your offensive flow, you can enjoy a constant 13% damage boost. Completing the 6-set shifts the playstyle to be much more aggressive. The moment the Storm buff reaches 10 stacks, it evolves into the ‘Typhoon’ buff, increasing both damage dealt and attack speed for 5 seconds. Furthermore, it instantly decrease skill cooldowns by 50%, creating perfect synergy with the Savant set mentioned earlier.   ▲ The Rank 28 Tempest set effect when fully equipped in Legendary gear (Photo: Gukmin Tree) ▲ The cooldown is dramatically reduced when the effect triggers.  (Photo: Gukmin Tree) Attack-All-In ‘Brute’ The biggest advantage of the Brute set is that it requires no activation conditions and is constantly active. It offers incredible efficiency by increasing damage dealt to enemies and reducing damage taken. No matter which set you pair it with, it is an effect that guarantees solid performance. However, players limit the usable amount of HP to 35% upon equipping the secondary set effect or 6-set. At the current stage where gear tiers are still low, this is a critical disadvantage. In fact, equipping the Brute set with a base HP below 10,000 is likewise as good as dead.  ▲ The Rank 28 Brute set effect when fully equipped in Legendary gear (Photo: Gukmin Tree) ▲ The HP limit penalty has a big effect. Currently, since top-ranking players on the Momentum Rankings hover around 2,000 Defense, it guarantees at least a 12% Attack Power boost. On the other hand, the other effects of the Guardian set are less favored relative to their performance. These effects only trigger upon taking damage, which clashes with the gameplay direction that focuses on minimizing hits. Therefore, the Guardian set should only be considered when you are building your set effects around two 3-set combinations.   ▲ The Rank 28 Guardian set effect when fully equipped in Legendary gear (Photo: Gukmin Tree) Which set do you recommend? The most recommended combination is the 6-piece Savant and 6-piece Tempest. Rankers' Trait Selection Directions

‘Game of Thrones: Kingsroad’ has not stabilized the supply and demand for equipment and artifacts yet, so a definitive standard build is not yet established. Nevertheless, the set effects that form the foundation of the builds are starting to become a clear trend.

The set effect configuration is '6+6 or 3+3+6'

‘Equipment Set’ effects are activated by equipping gear from the same set.

Set effect ‘Savant’

The Savant 3-set constantly increases Rage Acquisition rate and increases Attack Power for 6 seconds upon using a skill.

Higher Skill Frequency ‘ Tempest’

The Tempest set is designed around relentlessly driving non-stop attacks. Equipping the 3-set grants the ‘Storm’ buff, which increases damage upon landing basic attacks or Strike Combos. This buff lasts for 5 seconds and stacks up to 10 times. By maintaining your offensive flow, you can enjoy a constant 13% damage boost.

Attack-All-In ‘Brute’

The biggest advantage of the Brute set is that it requires no activation conditions and is constantly active.

Best efficiency   in the 3-set ‘Guardian’

Equipping just the Guardian 3-set grants the ‘The Protector’ effect, which increases Attack Power by 4% per 500 Defense, up to a maximum of 20%.

Which set do you recommend?

The most recommended combination is the 6-piece Savant and 6-piece Tempest. In the late game, Rage generation becomes smooth, allowing for frequent skill use, where the synergy between Savant and Tempest delivers peak efficiency. However, because the Tempest's 'Storm' buff lasts for only 5 seconds, maintaining it can be challenging. Furthermore, to maximize your damage ceiling, you must use your skills within the 5-second window of the 'Typhoon' buff, meaning you always need to closely monitor your buff timing.

If you prefer a more comfortable gameplay experience, the 6-piece Savant and 6-piece Brute combination is highly recommended. Since the Brute's effects are constantly active, there is no need to worry about buffs. You must be careful of enemy attacks due to the HP limitation penalty, but as your gear tiers improve and you become more accustomed to the game, this will no longer feel like a major drawback.

For a more relaxed, low-maintenance playstyle, we recommend the 3-piece Guardian, 3-piece Brute, and 6-piece Savant combination. This setup permanently reduces damage taken and increases Defense upon getting hit, allowing for a relatively stable playstyle. Any missing attack power is made up for by the skill damage boost from the Savant set.

▲ A lot of rankers are using the Savant set as their main set.

The Duelist and Crusher sets are difficult to recommend in the current meta. First of all, the Duelist is a highly conditional set which effects trigger only upon successful parries and perfect guards.

The Crusher set likewise falls short in terms of practical utility. While its concept focuses on dealing explosive damage when an enemy is rendered Groggy, it is extremely rare for the Groggy state to trigger multiple times in a combat under the current combat environment. Unless future content emerges where Groggy damage becomes the core strategy, the set is bound to remain highly inefficient for the foreseeable future.
