Patch 1.3 Live NowPatch 1.3 is now live for Hell Let Loose: Vietnam, bringing another round of fixes, improvements and balancing changes based on the issues and feedback you’ve been sharing with us.This patch includes changes to NVA Tunnel balancing, improvements to Armor gear shifting, an important workaround targeting stability issues affecting players using AMD hardware, further improvements to console image quality, and a range of fixes for community server owners.Alongside these headline changes, Patch 1.3 includes further improvements across gameplay, vehicles, weapons, UI and controls, audio, tutorials, VOIP, maps and more.Thank you for continuing to share your reports and feedback with us. Here are some of the key improvements included in Patch 1.3: Patch 1.3 HighlightsTunnel BalancingWe’re making further adjustments to NVA Tunnels based on gameplay data and community feedback.The Tunnel placement cooldown has been doubled from 5 minutes to 10 minutes, slowing the rate at which the NVA can place and replace their Tunnel network.Players will also no longer be able to travel to a Tunnel destination while it is considered ‘hot’, bringing this behaviour in line with Garrisons.These are not the final changes planned for faction balance, and future balancing work will increasingly focus on strengthening the US Forces and the options available to them on the battlefield.Armor GearingTank drivers previously needed to have the throttle engaged before they could change gear up or down, which was not intended. With Patch 1.3, tank drivers can now freely change gears without needing to apply throttle, making gear selection more responsive and intuitive.Console Image QualityOur work to improve image quality on console continues, with the aim of increasing image clarity and resolution while maintaining performance. In Patch 1.3 there have been a number of subtle updates that should help with shadow quality and image noise in indirectly lit areas. We are continually working on console quality, with further optimisation and image quality work currently ongoing for future updates.Community ServersPatch 1.3 includes a number of fixes aimed at improving the experience for community server owners and administrators. This patch includes changes to NVA Tunnel balancing, improvements to Armor gear shifting, an important workaround targeting stability issues affecting players using AMD hardware, further improvements to console image quality, and a range of fixes for community server owners.
Alongside these headline changes, Patch 1.3 includes further improvements across gameplay, vehicles, weapons, UI and controls, audio, tutorials, VOIP, maps and more.

We’re making further adjustments to NVA Tunnels based on gameplay data and community feedback.
The Tunnel placement cooldown has been doubled from 5 minutes to 10 minutes, slowing the rate at which the NVA can place and replace their Tunnel network.

Helicopter Inversion setting now applies correctly, with pressing forward on the analogue pitching down by default and invert flipping that behaviour.
\[KNOWN ISSUE - This change has resulted in the tank gunner inversion setting being controlled by the Vehicle Inversion Setting rather than the intended Look Inversion setting. This will be resolved in Patch 1.4].
Fixed an issue that could briefly display the ‘Friendly Down’ marker after killing an enemy while playing as a Medic.
Improved the consistency of asset rendering across the Deployment Map and Tactical Map.
Updated controller layouts to display the correct button assignments within Settings.
Supply Helicopters no longer display misleading UI text when attempting to drop Supplies within an HQ.
The Supply drop UI no longer flickers when a Supply drop cannot be performed.
Added the ability to assign accelerate or brake to mouse inputs.
The button for role progression no longer shares the same button as commander chat.
Using the Clear option in the Barracks now correctly removes the checkmark from previously selected equipment.
Fixed an issue where the weight value of the first Lethal/Utility slot could visually disappear after clearing an item from the second slot.
Resource generation from Nodes is now correctly reflected in the overall resource gain after re-joining a server.
Fixed interaction text persisting on the Scoreboard and Match End screen
Fixed an issue that could prevent the Deployment Screen from updating after accepting a Unit invite while already on the screen.
Updated vehicle button prompts to address duplicate or incorrect assignments.
The Confirm Placement prompt for Commander Orders no longer persists on the Tactical Map after opening and closing the Orders menu.
It it now possible to access the scoreboard when in the Killed in Action (KIA) screen.
Pings no longer briefly appear blue before changing to the correct colour selected from the Ping Wheel.
Fixed an issue that could cause Exit Seat and Switch Seat prompts to appear twice for Pilots and Co-Pilots.
The AA Wrench is now correctly labelled ‘AA Wrench’ rather than ‘Wrench’.
Truck speedometers can now display speeds above 30 km/h to reflect their increased maximum speeds.
Cleared actions assigned to mouse buttons by default now save correctly.
Keybinds already assigned to an action can now be reassigned to another action.
The Exit Vehicle keybind is no longer hardcoded and can be reassigned.
Players can now bind actions to the right mouse button.
Team resources are now visible on the Deployment Screen.
Outlines on the Commander Orders are no longer cut-off at the edges.
Fixed specific Capture Point names appearing below ground level.
Updated the credits.
Fire effects no longer display stretched textures when hitting objects.
Legs of character models in prone position no longer disappear in the corners of the Player's view.
Reduced volumetric artefacts appearing in the sky after closing the Tactical Map.
Fixed the Napalm Strike being silent in the Practice Range.
Reduced the volume of Smoke Grenades and Flares from inside Tanks, helping distinguish them from the sound of a Satchel fuse.
Improved the 3D positioning of Garrison, Outpost and Tunnel SFX to make them easier to locate through audio.
Enemy player can now be heard whilst hiding prone in a bush and moving the camera.
SFX now play correctly when enemy players crawl while prone.
Fixed Sub/LFE audio not functioning correctly on some surround sound setups.
N4 Rifle Grenades now function correctly within the Grenadier/Machine Gunner Tutorial and Practice Range.
The ‘Mantle out of the Water’ objective now completes correctly when exiting the swimming pool from the left-hand side.
Leaving the Unit during the Redeployment section of the Recon Tutorial no longer causes a softlock.
Players with a colon ([c]:[/c]) in their name can now access Tutorials and the Practice Range.
Servers no longer incorrectly report a ping of 0 ms.
Party Voice Chat settings now correctly mute voice input.
Fixed an issue on PS5 where kicked players could lose Proximity Chat audio until their headphones were disconnected from the controller.
VIP comments on community servers now appear as intended.
The Radio HUD is now visible while travelling through Tunnels.
VOIP no longer stutters or cuts out when transitioning to the Killed in Action screen.
Resetting a community server no longer removes its VIP list.
Map Shuffle on community servers now correctly randomises selected content.
The art team has been hard at work, with over 100 fixes made across all six launch maps in Patch 1.3.
These fixes address a wide range of environmental and gameplay issues, including:
Floating objects and vegetation.
Object and vegetation clipping.
Terrain and water alignment, including visible seam lines.
Specific spawn locations that could leave players trapped.
Tessellation and stretched textures.
Extended collision.
Missing interior decorations.
Culling distances.
LOD issues.
Out-of-bounds and LOD issues on Tactical Maps.
Deployable placement issues.
We’ll continue reviewing your reports and making further improvements to all six maps in future Patches and Updates.
