The focus of R.E.P.O.'s Cosmetics Update is to give semibots a new, fully customizable uniform to add character and personality that spices up your painted metal. No longer do you need to separate into your favorite colors when launching a co-op lobby. Introducing cosmetics, a new way for individuality and uniqueness for customization is just around the corner, but its offers aren't infinite. With only the default items that you can't even mess around with, you need to unlock cosmetics to alter your semibot's appearance. Instead of spawning and claiming land in the Service Station, cluttering the space, cosmetics are tied directly to the new Tax Tokens. Cosmetics do not spawn in. Rather, they are purchased inside the Service Station via the large pillar sporting the cry-laugh emoji that's spinning on the spot. Gathering Tax Tokens via boxes you find in the world (exclusively in the levels: Headman Manor, McJannek Station, Swiftbroom Academy, and Museum of Human Art) and inserting the tokens you extracted back into the dispenser inside the Service Station rewards you with a random cosmetic.How many cosmetics are there in the new R.E.P.O. update? While it's not impossible to find these boxes in level one, it's highly unlikely. The further you get in your quota, the higher the chance of finding one or more boxes, which you must then bring to the Service Station by using the Extraction Point that transfers a box into one Tax Token to then convert into either a common, uncommon, rare, or legendary cosmetic item.
