Grounded 2's second year of early access includes base moving, an expanded map, and plenty of secrets Obsidian's still teasing

Obsidian Entertainment has just put out an early access roadmap for Grounded 2's Year 2, promising everything from an expanded map to new weapons and bosses, but there are still a few secret things the developer's keeping a tight lid on. Just a few days ago, Grounded 2 enjoyed its meaty new Into the Abyss update, which included a brand new area, overhauls to swimming and underwater exploration, plenty of new backyard critters to fend off, the surprise addition of fast travel, and much more. But Obsidian wasted no time in letting folks know what else to expect from their shrunk-down survival game, via an updated roadmap. New SCA.B Flavor Schemes (colors for your HUD), a rotting wood pile area, and a new potato beetle mount are headlining an unnamed update due this fall. ???? And then the ability to move your entire base is promised in the roadmap's more vague "future plans" section, alongside more of the things you'd expect. The famed studio isn't revealing its full hand as the Year 2 roadmap has plenty of upcoming features spray-painted over. From what we can tell, the devs really don't want to ruin the surprise of one particular enemy type, two incoming areas, and a community-requested building feature. Alright then, Obsidian, keep your secrets. Obsidian's silence hasn't stopped the community from crafting their own theories, however. "I'm guessing the next major area in the Winter update will be the Sandbox area," one fan writes over on Reddit. "The last update in the roadmap includes an expansion to the Abyss, so I'm assuming it'll be the Explosion area south of the Pond." The other elephant (or wolf spider, in this instance) in the roadmap is Grounded 2's 1.0 release window, which isn't mentioned here at all. "We aren’t locking ourselves into a hard date just yet; it'll really depend on how things go and how much we add based on your feedback," the game's Steam page notes. "We'll keep you posted along the way!" Fallout: New Vegas studio Obsidian reportedly working on a new Fallout RPG after forced pivot from Xbox kills Avowed 2 and other games [/url]
