Final Fantasy 7 Remake series director Naoki Hamaguchi has revealed Final Fantasy 7 Revelation is close to completion, and that he's quite confident that it'll hit the mark. Speaking to YouTube creator Ashif’s Release Notes (via Genki_JPN), Hamaguchi was asked about his approach to helming the Final Fantasy 7 Remake trilogy, as someone who was inspired by the series itself, and while the 12 years he's been working on the project have caused him to feel a massive amount of responsibility and pressure, things have somewhat calmed as he approaches the end. "Having been able to announce FF7 revelation at SGF, I hope that people out there can look at it and think this looks like it will be pretty good," Hamaguchi says, adding, "As we are now approaching the end, it's nearing completion. I personally can pick it up and play it and think, 'yeah, this feels good; this is satisfying.' So I am quite confident in it." Of course, with it being the final entry in the Final Fantasy 7 Remake trilogy and coinciding with the original game's 30th anniversary, Revelation has a fair amount riding on it as a release. Hamaguchi acknowledges this: "Of course the final judgment is in the hands of the players... but I feel confident." He adds, "I can see the end. So my honest state at the moment is that I can finally feel that pressure lifting." Despite some major problems people have with the current remake games, and the weird ending of Rebirth leaving the series on a bit of a rough note for many, it's hard to deny that they are mostly an excellent time. Hopefully the finale lands for everyone, and finally clears up some of the weird remake timeline shenanigans.
