With the Version 1.8 update just around the corner, we’re happy to greet you once again. With each update bringing a new version, we’ve already made it all the way to Version 1.8.

The Version 1.8 update will introduce a variety of improvements, new content, and updates to our seasonal content. At the same time, our development team has been hard at work preparing for the upcoming Half-Anniversary update.

As many of you have likely already guessed, we’re preparing for the upcoming Half-Anniversary update to mark a fresh new beginning for Origin as Version 2.0.

Above all, what we consider most important is creating an environment where, beginning with the Half-Anniversary, even more Star Guardians can discover Britannia and choose to stay with us for the long run.

With this in mind, the Version 1.8 update has been prepared as groundwork for the Half-Anniversary update, and in this Developer Notes, we'd like to give you a brief look at what we're currently working on.

■ Key Content in the Version 1.8 Update

1. New Content: Hunting Event

With this update, we’re introducing a new content type where up to 15 players team up to take down a boss together: the Hunting Event.

Until now, we’ve primarily offered combat content centered around small-party gameplay. However, our development team wanted to provide Star Guardians with a new kind of combat experience by bringing a large group of players together to take on a single boss.

The event is designed to allow parties of up to five players to queue together through matchmaking, with up to 15 players entering the same battlefield and fighting simultaneously.

Rather than being permanent content, the Hunting Event will be available as a limited-time event. We also plan to bring it back periodically in the future.

2. New Content: Memory of Dimensions (Original Story Quest)

The Original Story Quest we introduced in a previous Developer Notes is finally here. With the Version 1.8 update, we’re excited to bring you its very first chapter.

'Memory of Dimensions' is new content designed to let you relive memorable stories and iconic scenes from the original anime by experiencing them firsthand within .

Rather than simply revisiting past events, we’ve put great care into creating an experience that lets Star Guardians step into those unforgettable moments themselves and relive the emotion of the original story.

In this first chapter, you’ll revisit the bond between Meliodas and Elizabeth, a story cherished by so many Star Guardians. Future chapters will go on to retrace the journey shared by the members of \[The Seven Deadly Sins].

For those who experienced the original series, we hope this serves as a nostalgic reunion. For Star Guardians who have yet to experience it, we hope it becomes an opportunity to discover the world of \[The Seven Deadly Sins] for the very first time.

Our goal is to deliver a different kind of experience from battling powerful bosses or exploring new regions — one that draws you in through the story itself and the emotions it brings.

That said, given the sheer scale of the original series, it’s simply not possible to recreate every story all at once. As a result, ‘Memory of Dimensions’ will focus on the most memorable events and iconic moments that have remained in the hearts of fans.

We'll continue preparing additional chapters so that you can experience even more of these unforgettable moments from the original story in future updates.

3. In-Game Information Display and Quality-of-Life Improvements

With the Version 1.8 update, we’ll be enhancing in-game information that has been lacking while introducing improvements to reduce downtime during repetitive gameplay.

These changes are designed to make important information easier to access and provide a smoother, more convenient gameplay experience.

✦ Set Item Information Added

A new feature will allow you to view additional information about Set Items directly in-game.

✦ Codex Acquisition Source Added

A new feature will allow you to directly check where specific entries in the Codex and Special Codex can be obtained.

✦ Fishing Spot Locations Displayed

Previously hidden Point Fishing Spots will now be displayed on the map, allowing you to easily check both their locations and related Fishing Spot Info.

✦ Content Retry Feature Added

A new feature will allow you to immediately retry Dungeons, Boss Challenges, and Raids after clearing them without first leaving the field.

In particular, Boss Challenges can now be retried even while combat is still in progress, making it easier for Star Guardians competing for rankings to jump right back into another attempt.

4. ‘Path of the Hero’ and ‘Challenge Missions’ Renewal

‘Path of the Hero’, which many Star Guardians have already completed, along with the ongoing event ‘Challenge Missions I - III’, will be renewed with this update.

To help new Star Guardians beginning their adventure in Britannia grow more quickly early on and catch up with existing players, we will be enhancing the rewards available through these missions and ongoing events.

For Star Guardians who have not yet claimed all of their rewards or completed these missions, the renewed rewards will be applied based on your current progress after the update. We hope you’ll keep this in mind as you continue your adventure.

In line with these improvements to 'Path of the Hero' and the ongoing events for new Star Guardians, we'd also like to give a small gift to all Star Guardians currently enjoying .

◆ Path of the Hero & Ongoing Event Support Reward

- Regular Hero Draw Ticket x10

* Over the next 5 weeks, a total of 50 ‘Regular Hero Draw Tickets’ will be distributed via the in-game mailbox every Monday at 09:00 (UTC).

* Mailbox rewards will be available to claim within 7 days upon delivery.

◆ Version 1.8 Update Appreciation Reward
- Radiant Potion of Charm x3
- Remnants of the Rift x3
- Tailor's Stitching Needle x5
- Element Spell Bead Selection Chest x3

* Following the Version 1.8 update, the rewards can be claimed from your in-game mailbox until August 26 (Wed) 14:59 (UTC).

5. Timespace Junction - Season I Final Sector Update

The Version 1.8 update will mark the end of ‘Timespace Junction Season I’.

Timespace Junction will conclude with its 12th and final Sector before resetting, and ‘Timespace Junction Season II’ will begin alongside the Half-Anniversary update. When Season II opens, all existing Sectors will be reset, and Timespace Junction will once again begin from Sector 1.

Since Timespace Junction Sectors are unlocked sequentially each week, the final Sector 12 is scheduled to open one week before the Half-Anniversary update. However, since this would leave Star Guardians with only one week to clear Sector 12, we’ve decided to keep Timespace Junction Season I available for two weeks after Sector 12 becomes available.

6. Early-Game Navigation and Combat Improvements

✦ Early Tutorial Skip Feature Added

We’re adding a Skip feature that lets you bypass the early cave tutorial and jump straight into the game.

✦ Increased World Level 3 Rewards

We plan to add Hero’s Token drops and increase the amount of Mastery growth materials obtainable at World Level 3.

✦ Tag Skill Activation Rule Improvements

We’re adjusting the activation rules for Tag Skills during combat against multiple enemies to minimize situations where Tag Skills unintentionally activate against unintended targets.

With these improvements, the Version 1.8 update has been prepared to provide Star Guardians who begin their adventure in Britannia before the Half-Anniversary with a smoother introduction to the game, while also addressing areas that existing Star Guardians have found inconvenient.

This direction will continue into the Half-Anniversary update as well, as we work toward creating an environment where even more Star Guardians can more easily settle into the game and continue their journey with us.

As mentioned earlier, the Version 1.8 update has been prepared to help Star Guardians beginning their adventure in Britannia ahead of the Half-Anniversary settle into the game more easily, while also addressing long-standing areas of inconvenience based on the feedback you’ve shared with us over time.

This direction will continue beyond the Version 1.8 update and into the upcoming Half-Anniversary update as well. As we approach this milestone, our development team is preparing a variety of events and updates to welcome more Star Guardians to Britannia, while also ensuring that those who have been with us from the beginning can continue enjoying their journey with us for a long time to come.

We hope you'll continue looking forward to the Half-Anniversary update following Version 1.8.
