Dev Blog | Visional Wheel S4: Gravity Abyss Adjustments, Optimization, and FAQ
Dear Metas,Since Visional Wheel S4: Gravity Abyss went live, we've received a lot of feedback on Aerial Hunt, Riftwalker Relics, Gravity Crystal acquisition, and more. Some features did not meet our standards for stability or overall experience at launch, leading to lag, crashes, unclear gameplay flow, and underwhelming rewards. We sincerely apologize for the issues this caused.Over the past few days, the development team has been focusing on fixes and adjustments. Below, we'll address the most frequently reported issues and explain our current plans. To thank all Metas for your feedback, patience, and understanding, we will send the following compensation to all players on June 3: Gravity Crystal ×1,000, Abyssal Core (Epic) ×1, Gravity Abyss Deviation Selection II ×1, and Downstar/Aero Mod Crate: Nightmare I ×5 (These crates contain mods from Nightmare difficulty dungeons). Please check your in-game mail.Q1: Why did Aerial Hunt have lag and crash issues?A: \[Optimized] At launch, Aerial Hunt saw a large number of players joining at the same time, and our server performance optimization was not yet sufficient. This led to lag and crashes. We have since made load optimizations to help ensure a smoother and more stable Aerial Hunt experience.*To maintain server performance, map teleportation to Aerial Hunt may be temporarily disabled when too many players are participating. You can still travel to the corresponding Stronghold manually to join Aerial Hunt.\[Fixed] We also noticed rare cases where Riftwalkers became stuck or rewards disappeared and could not be claimed. These issues have now been fixed. Because the live server environment can be complex, occasional issues may still occur. We will continue monitoring the Riftwalker experience and make further adjustments as needed.Q2: Aerial Hunt rewards feel underwhelming, and the mode feels too difficult.A: \[Optimized] We have increased Aerial Hunt rewards based on your feedback. This includes more Gravity Crystals, Deviations, and Mod Crates, as well as a higher drop rate for Abyssal Cores. We have also adjusted personal objectives. You now only need to meet the required damage threshold to receive the personal reward. To address the overall combat difficulty, we have made the following balance adjustments to Riftwalkers on May 29:1) Slightly reduced Riftwalkers' HP, making them easier to defeat.2) Optimized enemy difficulty for this mode in the Endless Dream and Deviation: Survive, Capture, Preserve scenarios.Q3: Aerial Hunt did not count toward the Legendary Mod Crate pity progress.A: Currently, mods obtained from Pro difficulty or higher content count toward Legendary Mod Crate pity progress. This rule also applies to Visional content that meets the same difficulty requirement.\[Optimized] In Visional Wheel S4, completing Phase 5 of Aerial Hunt or Gravity Integrator gameplay will now count toward Legendary Mod Crate pity progress. The mods obtained from these modes will also include Visional keywords. Mod Crates obtained from stronghold exploration or Echoites will still not count, as these modes are lower in difficulty. For players who triggered pity in Aerial Hunt before this fix but did not receive a Legendary Mod Crate with a Visional keyword, we will review the data and send one Legendary Mod Crate with a Visional keyword as compensation. This is expected to be completed within 5 business days.To better support character progression, we will add a Downstar/Aero Shiny Mod Random Crate to the Visional Redeem Shop on June 2. It can be redeemed up to 2 times per month and costs 15 Abyssal Essence each. The existing Downstar/Aero Shiny Mod Random Crate, which can be redeemed twice as a one-time purchase, will remain available and will not be removed.Q4: Riftwalker Relics (advanced Echoites) are confusing. The enemies feel unkillable, and the crate seems to disappear once it rises.A: Riftwalker Relics were designed around observation and exploration. The idea was for Metas to locate Echoite locations on the map, find the crate, complete a combat challenge, then use different Tech tools (such as Energy Raisers, Floating Aerogel, or flight vehicles) to reach the final reward. After launch, your feedback made it clear that the objectives, pacing, and reward path were not clear enough. We are making the following changes:1) \[Optimized] Reduced the Echoite Crate's ascent speed and increased the time it stays at its highest point.2) \[Fix in progress] We are working on an issue where Echoites may get stuck in terrain or buildings. Once the fix is complete, we will notify all Metas through an announcement.3) \[Scheduled for the June 10 (PT) update] We will improve the Echoite Crate's visual effects to make it easier to spot.As for enemies having too much HP, their HP is currently based on the level of the area where the Echoite lands. We recommend choosing areas that match your current level when exploring and claiming these rewards.Q5: The Gravity Crystal weekly c
Dear Metas,
Since Visional Wheel S4: Gravity Abyss went live, we've received a lot of feedback on Aerial Hunt, Riftwalker Relics, Gravity Crystal acquisition, and more. Some features did not meet our standards for stability or overall experience at launch, leading to lag, crashes, unclear gameplay flow, and underwhelming rewards. We sincerely apologize for the issues this caused.
Over the past few days, the development team has been focusing on fixes and adjustments.
Please check your in-game mail.
Q1: Why did Aerial Hunt have lag and crash issues?
A: \[Optimized] At launch, Aerial Hunt saw a large number of players joining at the same time, and our server performance optimization was not yet sufficient. This led to lag and crashes. We have since made load optimizations to help ensure a smoother and more stable Aerial Hunt experience.
*To maintain server performance, map teleportation to Aerial Hunt may be temporarily disabled when too many players are participating. You can still travel to the corresponding Stronghold manually to join Aerial Hunt.
\[Fixed] We also noticed rare cases where Riftwalkers became stuck or rewards disappeared and could not be claimed. These issues have now been fixed. Because the live server environment can be complex, occasional issues may still occur. We will continue monitoring the Riftwalker experience and make further adjustments as needed.
Q2: Aerial Hunt rewards feel underwhelming, and the mode feels too difficult.
A: \[Optimized] We have increased Aerial Hunt rewards based on your feedback. This includes more Gravity Crystals, Deviations, and Mod Crates, as well as a higher drop rate for Abyssal Cores. We have also adjusted personal objectives. You now only need to meet the required damage threshold to receive the personal reward.
To address the overall combat difficulty, we have made the following balance adjustments to Riftwalkers on May 29:
1) Slightly reduced Riftwalkers' HP, making them easier to defeat.
2) Optimized enemy difficulty for this mode in the Endless Dream and Deviation: Survive, Capture, Preserve scenarios.
Q3: Aerial Hunt did not count toward the Legendary Mod Crate pity progress.
A: Currently, mods obtained from Pro difficulty or higher content count toward Legendary Mod Crate pity progress. This rule also applies to Visional content that meets the same difficulty requirement.
\[Optimized] In Visional Wheel S4, completing Phase 5 of Aerial Hunt or Gravity Integrator gameplay will now count toward Legendary Mod Crate pity progress.
This is expected to be completed within 5 business days.
To better support character progression, we will add a Downstar/Aero Shiny Mod Random Crate to the Visional Redeem Shop on June 2. It can be redeemed up to 2 times per month and costs 15 Abyssal Essence each. The existing Downstar/Aero Shiny Mod Random Crate, which can be redeemed twice as a one-time purchase, will remain available and will not be removed.
Q4: Riftwalker Relics (advanced Echoites) are confusing. The enemies feel unkillable, and the crate seems to disappear once it rises.
A: Riftwalker Relics were designed around observation and exploration. We are making the following changes:
1) \[Optimized] Reduced the Echoite Crate's ascent speed and increased the time it stays at its highest point.
2) \[Fix in progress] We are working on an issue where Echoites may get stuck in terrain or buildings. Once the fix is complete, we will notify all Metas through an announcement.
3) \[Scheduled for the June 10 (PT) update] We will improve the Echoite Crate's visual effects to make it easier to spot.
As for enemies having too much HP, their HP is currently based on the level of the area where the Echoite lands. We recommend choosing areas that match your current level when exploring and claiming these rewards.
Q5: The Gravity Crystal weekly cap is too low and too easy to reach.
A: \[Optimized] We have seen the discussion around the Gravity Crystal cap. Gravity Crystals are the core item for this Vision and can be obtained from multiple sources, including Aerial Hunt, Echoite Crates, Starfall enemies, and Star Advent Loot Crates. Based on player needs, we have raised the weekly cap to 10,000. After reaching the cap, acquisition efficiency will be reduced to 50% (following the current decay rule).
We have also increased the number of Gravity Crystals obtainable from Star Advent Loot Crates and Unstable Aggregates, and raised the chance of obtaining Legendary Mod Crates from Unstable Aggregates. This should give players with different playstyles more suitable ways to gather resources. Star Advent Loot Crates will also have a higher chance to drop Energy Raisers and Floating Aerogel.
Q6: Why can I see Unstable Aggregates in a weightless area, but not after leaving it?
A: \[Fix in progress] After investigation, we found that in rare cases, Unstable Aggregate spawn points in certain settlements may behave abnormally. This can cause Unstable Aggregates to be visible inside a weightless area but not appear correctly after leaving it. We are working on a fix and will share updates through an announcement once it is complete.
We have also received reports that Unstable Aggregates sometimes do not refresh for long periods of time. Unstable Aggregates in weightless strongholds are intended to refresh once per hour. We are investigating and fixing abnormal refresh intervals as well, and will notify everyone as soon as the fix is complete.
Q7: Since Visional and Normal Worlds are now separated, why isn't weightlessness applied to the whole map?
A: We have received a lot of feedback on whether weightlessness should apply to the entire map or only certain areas. We chose the current regional design because gravity changes have a major impact on basic controls. If weightlessness covered the entire map, it could create too much adjustment pressure for some players, especially those trying the mode for the first time. For now, weightlessness is focused in specific strongholds, where it is tied to exploration and combat. Players who want to experience weightless movement outside settlements can also do so through formulas such as the Energy Raiser.
We will continue to review feedback about item usage feeling cumbersome, too few reward points, and weightless areas feeling too small. We are also exploring improvements such as increasing the Energy Raiser's duration. Once we have confirmed adjustment plans, we will let all Metas know in advance.
Q8: Mutagens were not dropping properly from Visional gameplay in the Deviation: Survive, Capture, Preserve scenario.
A: \[Optimized] We have fixed the issue where Mutagens were not dropping properly in the Deviation: Survive, Capture, Preserve scenario. We have also added Aberrant Progeny Mutagen Selection to the Redeem Shop - Gravity Crystal Shop. Metas can redeem it for 1,500 Gravity Crystals, making it easier for those who need it to obtain one.
*Only Morphed Deviation Mutagens from the Visional Wheel will be added to the shop. Other Mutagens must still be obtained by playing Deviation: Survive, Capture, Preserve.
We are continuing to fix bugs and improve the experience based on your feedback. Please keep sharing your thoughts through the Feedback Platform (Once Human Feedback Platform) and in-game Customer Service so we can keep improving. We sincerely apologize again for the poor experience caused by some issues at the start of this Vision, and we thank every Meta for your patience and understanding.
