Community Crunch 506: Now You See Me, Now You Don’t

We’ve teased the legends and shared the data, but today we’re finally pulling the Burrowbuck out of the hat.

Once you’ve earned its trust, and finished wiping the dirt out of your eyes, the map becomes your playground. Need a quick exit? Dig in. Being trailed by something bigger, meaner, and very committed to the chase? Lead it toward a false entrance and let the terrain do the heavy lifting while you pop up somewhere far safer.

This floofy little guy avoids the brute force approach, choosing instead to dictate the terms of a fight. With the right setup, you’ll have the tools to vanish before trouble catches up, leaving your pursuers staring at a suspiciously unhelpful hole in the ground.

Small, clever, and aggressively uninterested in becoming anyone’s lunch, it is ready to bring a little folklore-flavored chaos to the ARK. The Burrowbuck drops [color=#3498db]May 19[/color] as the first release in our upcoming [color=#3498db]Fantastic Tames Season 1 pack ($9.99)[/color]. At launch, we’ll also reveal the designs for the two remaining creatures, which will roll out to season 1 pack owners as they’re completed throughout 2026.

Hey Survivors, after careful assessment, we've opted to begin the process of sunsetting a selection of our inactive official servers. Our goal is to ensure that we're always delivering the best experience possible, and official servers exist as a way for the community to play together without having to host their own. When we launch fresh content, typically, we put up more servers than we need in the long term to match the peak in user capacity; over time, these servers become ghost towns as players have dropped off and are waiting for the next major content release.

As part of this process, the servers will be renamed with the “SUNSET” prefix, following the same approach we’ve used in the past. Please note that once renamed, these servers will be removed from the in-game Favorites list, so you’ll need to search for them manually to reconnect.
