World of Tanks: Heat confirms release date on PC and consoles

Wargamer has announced a launch date of May 26, 2026, for World of Tanks: Heat, a new standalone free-to-play tactical vehicle shooter. World of Tanks: Heat is set in a parallel post-WWII era and aims to deliver “a faster, more dynamic take on armoured warfare, driven by team-based combat,” according to a press release from Wargamer. Built on developer Wargaming’s proprietary engine, the game aims to deliver upgraded graphics and gameplay when compared to previous entries in the World of Tanks series. World of Tanks: Heat will be available across PC (Wargaming Game Center and Steam), Steam Deck, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and NVIDIA GeForce Now, and will support full cross-platform play and progression. Image credit: Wargaming Heat is built from the ground up on a new proprietary engine developed in-house by Wargaming. This technology “delivers modern visuals and immersive environments while enabling fast, responsive gameplay optimized for smooth performance across a wide range of hardware,” according to the press release. At launch, players can expect to play as one of eight Agents, each with three battlefield roles: Defender, Assault, and Marksman. Each Agent commands a lethal two-vehicle roster, with each vehicle tailored to its role in combat. The game includes fifteen different vehicles, with each one supporting a different playstyle and can be fully customized through modules and equipment. Whether holding the frontline or striking from a distance, there’s a tank that is ready for each job. Battlefields in World of Tanks: Heat will span a wide range of biomes, settings, and visual styles, each designed to support multiple playstyles across game modes, such as the four PvP modes that will be available from launch: Hardpoint, Control, Kill Confirmed, and Conquest.
