From the very beginning, we had both characters in mind.Whenever we introduced a new character to GrandChase Classic, there was always one thing that felt lacking. The story explaining why the character joined GrandChase was simply too limited. It was difficult to convey a character's personality and make players grow attached to them through just a single event dungeon, and to be honest, their reasons for joining often didn't feel fully convincing.Because of that, we began planning a longer narrative that would gradually tell each character's story through dedicated dungeons. Our goal is to deliver a completely different style of action and gameplay, and Ereb’s shield has been designed around that philosophy. We're refining the character so that the strengths unique to a shield truly shine and create a playstyle that feels unmistakably like Ereb.If we ever begin deciding on the next character's weapon, we'll continue putting plenty of thought into creating something fresh and exciting. Something that shines brilliantly in the players imagination. If I have to describe Ereb in a single sentence, I'd say he’s someone who appears very composed and a responsible man on the outside, yet possesses a warm heart beneath that calm exterior. He is a multidimensional character who embodies both strength and vulnerability. Even when mistakes are made, he strives to correct them and continue moving forward. He’s someone who could easily exist in the real world. We hope many of you will come to appreciate that side of Ereb. We're still working very hard on perfecting the character, so I hope everyone will enjoy watching how Ereb's journey through Solene gradually unfolds into a complete story.Balance Adjustments - ZeroWe've seen many discussions within the community regarding Zero's balance, especially the concerns about the upcoming nerfs. There are certain areas where Zero is performing well beyond what we originally intended, so we're planning to make some adjustments. That said, rather than applying a major nerf all at once, our current plan is to make smaller adjustments over a longer period of time. There's one thing I'd especially like to emphasize:The goal of these changes is simply to tone down excessive performance, not to make Zero unusable. We hope players are not too concerned about Zero becoming unusable.5th Anniversary NewsPreparing for the 5th Anniversary EventIt's hard to believe we're already celebrating our fifth anniversary. We're working hard to prepare everything for the occasion. We'll be holding a special voting event featuring a variety of rewards. ☕Tomo’s Teatime(◡‿◡) #15

Hello, this is Tomo.

I have quite a few things to share with everyone today, so grab a cup of tea and enjoy today’s teatime.

Character Updates

Ereb – Behind the Development

First, I'd like to talk about Ereb, our new character to arrive on August 12.

Ereb isn't a character that suddenly appeared out of nowhere. In fact, Ereb has been in development ever since we first started planning Iris. From the very beginning, we had both characters in mind.

Whenever we introduced a new character to GrandChase Classic, there was always one thing that felt lacking. The story explaining why the character joined GrandChase was simply too limited. It was difficult to convey a character's personality and make players grow attached to them through just a single event dungeon, and to be honest, their reasons for joining often didn't feel fully convincing.

Because of that, we began planning a longer narrative that would gradually tell each character's story through dedicated dungeons. We developed Solene dungeons with character development in mind.

Many players have been wondering what kind of weapon Ereb uses.

Ereb wields a shield called Laegjarn.

We chose a shield because it symbolizes Ereb's desire to protect his friends.

From a gameplay perspective, we believe every new character should offer a clear identity separate from others in the existing roster. Our goal is to deliver a completely different style of action and gameplay, and Ereb’s shield has been designed around that philosophy. We're refining the character so that the strengths unique to a shield truly shine and create a playstyle that feels unmistakably like Ereb.

If we ever begin deciding on the next character's weapon, we'll continue putting plenty of thought into creating something fresh and exciting.

We're still working very hard on perfecting the character, so I hope everyone will enjoy watching how Ereb's journey through Solene gradually unfolds into a complete story.

Balance Adjustments - Zero

We've seen many discussions within the community regarding Zero's balance, especially the concerns about the upcoming nerfs.

There are certain areas where Zero is performing well beyond what we originally intended, so we're planning to make some adjustments.

That said, rather than applying a major nerf all at once, our current plan is to make smaller adjustments over a longer period of time.

There's one thing I'd especially like to emphasize:

The goal of these changes is simply to tone down excessive performance, not to make Zero unusable.

We hope players are not too concerned about Zero becoming unusable.

5th Anniversary News

Preparing for the 5th Anniversary Event

It's hard to believe we're already celebrating our fifth anniversary.

We're working hard to prepare everything for the occasion.

We'll be holding a special voting event featuring a variety of rewards. Through daily and weekly votes, players will be able to earn rewards that differ from our usual event offerings, so we hope players will enjoy participating throughout the three-week event.

We're also preparing our annual merchandise giveaway once again. Samples have already begun arriving one by one, and we're continuing to think of ways to share them with as many players as possible.

Since we're expecting many returning players, we'll also be updating the New Player Growth Guide.

As previously announced, the current Growth Guide will be removed. If you haven't completed it yet, we encourage you to finish it before the update and make sure to claim all of its rewards, including VP.

5th Anniversary Illustration Event

The 5th Anniversary Illustration Event has officially come to a close.

Just like previous years, the submitted artwork will be featured as in-game loading screens.

We know how much thought, time, and effort goes into creating every illustration, so we'd like to sincerely thank everyone who participated.

The winning illustrations that will be added to the game have now been completed, and we'd like to give you a preview of them.

Closing

That's all for today's Tea Time.

Before we wrap up, I'd also like to mention that we're already hard at work preparing the updates that will follow our new character release.

On the content side, we're preparing our first storyline that focuses on an existing character rather than introducing a new one.

On the systems side, we're working on improvements to create a more comfortable and enjoyable gameplay experience.

We're also exploring new skills that will further enhance the depth and enjoyment of the existing combat system, so we hope you'll look forward to the roadmap for our second-half updates, which we'll be sharing in the near future.

We'll continue doing our best to make GrandChase even more fun.

We'll see you again in the next teatime.

Thank you.

— Tomo
