This Month in Sky: July 2026 Edition

Hello, Adventurers! 

Welcome to “This Month in Sky”, where we share Sky news, community activities, and creations from Sky Kids around the world. 

From the Sky Creator Awards to the launch of Dear Van Gogh, join us this month in a celebration of human creativity and expression!

July 14th

July 17th - October 1st

Sky’s next season is on the horizon, and brings you into the life of Vincent van Gogh through an interactive journey shaped by his paintings, his struggles, and the people closest to him. Explore 3D recreations of some of his most iconic works, witness his earliest uncertainties, his Paris awakening, and the fragile beauty of his final years.

July 3rd - 23rd

Thatgamecompany recently had its 20th anniversary, and Sky is now turning seven! That means it’s time for our annual birthday bash across Aviary and the office – talk to Patchchan to teleport to the Anniversary version of Aviary and take part in the fun. Favorite activities such as the pool party makeover will be available, as well as a portal to the TGC office, where you can find some new faces wandering the halls and a party on the rooftop. The Sky Creator Awards will take place during the anniversary celebrations, too! Read the dedicated section under “Community Announcements” for more information.

July 31st - August 20th

Grab your surfboard and get ready for some summer fun! Join the spirits in Hidden Forest to relax, splash in the water, and test your surfing skills.

It’s time for the 2026 Sky Creator Awards! Join us in the Sky Cinema to see some amazing creations from the Sky community, a special message from Jenova, and some exclusive sneak peeks. During the show, audience members will have the opportunity to collect Light, see the result of the Traveling Spirit vote, and even grab a special hat cosmetic to mark the occasion!

July 17th at 4:30pm

Join us for another chaotic foray into the storm. Festival tech will be enabled, and we’ll have some staff members broadcasting their Sky Kids so everyone can join in as they make their way through Eden.
