Steam Summer Sale brings my favorite indie roguelike and all its DLC down to $5, which is wild value for a game I've spent 500 hours in
The Steam Summer Sale features a massive discount on The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth and all of its expansions, bringing a game you can spend hundreds of hours in down to $5 Mewgenics is one of the best indie games of 2026, but its co-creator Edmund McMillen first earned renown for his previous roguelike, The Binding of Isaac. And despite McMillen saying Isaac was only made as a basic roguelike to test the genre out before moving on to Mewgenics, the game still earned a reputation as one of the best roguelikes of all time – one that defined the genre. After an expansion and a remake, which subsequently got four more expansions, The Binding of Isaac is ultimately a massive game that I've sunk hundreds of hours into throughout the 15 years it's been out. So color me shocked when I log into Steam and see that The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth Complete Bundle – which includes the game, the Afterbirth expansion, Afterbirth +, and Repentance (as well as the free Repentance+ expansion) all of which typically costs $50.96 in total – is now sitting at 90% off, bringing what I'd call the greatest roguelike ever made down to $5.09. Sales are common on Steam, but to put it into perspective, The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth Complete Bundle's last sale (according to SteamDB) priced it at $35.83. Then, the lowest price the bundle has ever received happened last January, when it dropped to $26.46 – so getting over $20 off of that now is a wild discount. As someone who has spent close to 500 hours in The Binding of Isaac across both games and multiple consoles, I want you to know you really don't want to miss out on this Steam deal, even if you have only a passing interest in roguelikes. Check out our full Mewgenics review to find out why it's "a worthy successor to The Binding of Isaac." [/url]
