MOBA fans gobsmacked that Blizzard still supports Heroes of the Storm as the dev unleashes an army of updates

The latest Heroes of the Storm patch is here, adding a new map to Ranked, giving multiple characters a nice little rebalance, making some quality-of-life changes. However, the wackiest thing to many onlookers is the fact the game's still being looked after at all. Right up top on the patch notes, is the reveal that Haunted Mines is now part of Ranked play. A good one for anyone who enjoys all things spooky; the Grave Keeper is the announcer, which is always fun. Lucio gets a new skin, called Ruby Chromestesia, and the music for the homescreen and startup has been updated. Then there's a slew of nerfs and buffs across the MOBA's roster. Further down the list, Diablo's Shadow Charge has been buffed to inflict 45 damage instead of 40, and their overpower is similarly powered up to do 80 instead of 73. These are just a few examples of what's a long list of changes from the team, and you'd think they'd give people pause, but the replies on Twitter are merely fascinated by the fact a new patch is out at all. "Wasn't this game shut down?" one account asks. "When did this come back?" another says. "Not trying to be funny, but I honestly remember reading it was closed down," a third reply says. What they're referring to, I imagine, is Blizzard deciding to stop making new additions to the MOBA back in 2022. However, support was always going to continue, and monthly updates have been happening ever since.
