Marathon’s controversial WSTR shotgun receives further changes in latest update

A new Marathon update just hit live servers, and it's got some more tweaks for one of the game's most problematic guns. The WSTR shotgun quickly became an issue shortly after launch as a go-to gun for close quarters PvP battles. It received some nerfs in a recent update and fell off, but today's patch has even more changes to bring it into a safer area with some new differences, along with a number of bug fixes. With today's update, the shotgun now has increased base damage, but with a smaller critical multiplier. There's also a new whopping 75 percent damage buff against AI enemies, meaning it's a bit more viable when dealing with UESC. Marathon’s controversial WSTR shotgun receives further changes in latest update

A new Marathon update just hit live servers, and it's got some more tweaks for one of the game's most problematic guns.

The WSTR shotgun quickly became an issue shortly after launch as a go-to gun for close quarters PvP battles. It received some nerfs in a recent update and fell off, but today's patch has even more changes to bring it into a safer area with some new differences, along with a number of bug fixes.

With today's update, the shotgun now has increased base damage, but with a smaller critical multiplier. There's also a new whopping 75 percent damage buff against AI enemies, meaning it's a bit more viable when dealing with UESC.

Item Economy

One free Cryo Archive Sponsored Kit can now be claimed each week.
Fixed an issue preventing Rooks from spawning with the updated 6 Depleted Shield Charges and Depleted Patch Kits that sponsored kits now have.

Combat

Weapons

WSTR Combat Shotgun
- Increased damage from 78 to 85.
- Reduced critical multiplier from 1.15x to 1.05x.
