Gamescom organizers Koelnmesse and Game – The German Games Industry Association – will host the Gamescom Awesome Indies Show with IGN. The show is now open for applications and for the first time it will be in partnership with the longstanding official production partner of Gamescom, IGN. The showcase, which will be streamed live in a 60-75 minute show on Thursday 27 August 2026 will now add previews to this offering to give a first-hand account of what players can expect from some of the featured games. The show will also include world-exclusive trailer premieres, gameplay reveals, and developer interviews. Applications for editorial or sponsored opportunities are now open to any independent developer or publisher who is exhibiting in the entertainment area, indie area, or event arena. To be considered for editorial inclusion in the Gamescom Awesome Indies Show, entries are open now and close at 23:59 CET on 2 August. For the possibility of an extended editorial feature placement within the show, submissions must be made 23:59 CET on 19 July. Details available here.
