How to get a gift from Snowfell Host in Duck Side of the Moon – Walter’s Treasure Note solution
Dragon’s in over his head, and all the geodes in town want to help relieve some of his stress by getting him a cake filled with gifts. Walter, the Snowfell host, wants in on the action, but instead of putting in any effort to contribute to the cause, he’s going to dump it all on everyone’s favorite feathered friend—a.k.a. you. Unfortunately for everyone involved, Walter can’t remember exactly where he hid his gift in Duck Side of the Moon, but he’s conveniently made two “treasure notes,” what are really just riddles, to help you find the loot. Here’s how to solve Walter’s Treasure Note riddles and get the gift from the Snowfell Host.Table of contentsTreasure note 1 solutionTreasure note 2 solutionTreasure note 1 solution After speaking to Walter, he'll give you the first treasure note, which reads as follows:“In a green cove, cozy and bright, where hearts align, near disco lights! Behind soft leaves, the way is near… Walk straight through, do not fear!” Look for the cove beneath the blue and pink lights. Screenshot by Destructoid Head straight through the bush. Screenshot by Destructoid To find the cove, look for a hill with a tall building and giant pink and blue spotlights, as shown in the image above. Beneath it will be a small entrance carved into the side of the mountain, with greenery covering the opening. You'll know you're at the right cove if you see blue lights scattered throughout the greenery. Enter the cove, and you’ll find a green bush to the right of a star. That bush isn’t actually a bush—well, okay, maybe it is, but unlike other bushes, you can walk right through this one. When you’ve made your way through it, you’ll find two items: a second treasure note and Walter’s Key. Pick up both, and check your inventory for the next clue. Pick up both items and get ready for another riddle. Screenshot by Destructoid Treasure note 2 solution When you hover over the second treasure note in your inventory, you’ll see the following description:“Inside the blue island, it hides… where geodes travel far and wide! Look to the right, beneath a tree. A locked door for you to see!” The key to this clue is “travel.” Only one place on the map makes sense in this context, and that’s the train station. It’s also the only blue island on the map. Head to the Train Station to find the next treasure. Screenshot by Destructoid Use Walter's Key to open the door. Screenshot by Destructoid Another bush to walk through. Screenshot by Destructoid Fly on over to the train station island and look for a ledge beneath one of the island’s red trees, as shown in the image above. When you fly to the opening of the ledge, you’ll see a door made of thin wooden planks that can be opened using Walter’s Key. Venture inside, and you’ll find another pseudo-bush wall—though this time, it’ll be a red one. Make your way through it, and you’ll find a sharp-looking item called the Twinkledust. Pick it up, and you’re one step closer to making a cake for Dragon. Twinkledust is Walter's long-lost treasure. Screenshot by Destructoid If you've already got the gifts from the miners, you can head on over to the baker, who will make the cake for you. If not, start the trek to the Quarry to begin that part of the quest.
