Hitman Classic Trilogy Remastered Revealed With 2027 Launch Window

IO Interactive has teamed up with Saber Interactive for Hitman Classic Trilogy Remastered, a new bundle of games built for modern consoles. IOI announced the news as part of its recent showcase. As the Copenhagen, Denmark-based company rides a wave of success brought about by its newly released 007 First Light, it's also looking to refresh some of the games that helped the company become what it is today. Hitman Classic Trilogy Remastered offers a host of enhancements for three titles: Hitman: Codename 47, Hitman 2: Silent Assassin, and Hitman: Contracts. IOI partnered with remaster developer Saber with the aim of seeing the collection bring new visuals, an instant graphics toggle, photo mode, and more to PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X | S at an unspecified point in 2027. "Discover the origins of the world’s deadliest assassin with the trilogy that defined the Hitman series, remastered for modern platforms while preserving the systems, tone, and player-driven freedom that made the franchise iconic," an official description from IOI said. "Whether you’re reliving these thrilling contracts or suiting up for the first time, Hitman Classic Trilogy Remastered is the definitive way to experience the beginnings of Agent 47. With multiple paths and puzzles in every mission, you'll be free to employ a diverse set of tools to fulfill each contract." You'll notice Nintendo Switch and Switch 2 were left out of the launch plans for Hitman Classic Trilogy Remastered. IOI and Saber didn't say why those platforms were left out or if the bundle will ever come to them. However, IOI didn't completely leave Nintendo fans out of its showcase, promising to bring its new Contracts mode to Hitman: Absolution for the original Switch "very soon," with a proper Switch 2 upgrade set to arrive this summer. More details about Hitman Classic Trilogy Remastered were revealed on its brand-new Steam page. Other highlights in the remasters include new character models, high-resolution textures, and enhanced environments. The Steam page also included a batch of side-by-side screenshots showing how retro environments have been given an upgrade. You can see the before and after pictures below. Hitman Classic Trilogy Remastered has no release date. In the meantime, you can see what IOI has planned for 007 First Light with its post-launch roadmap.
