In two weeks, DEATH STRANDING 2: ON THE BEACH launches on PC!

To make sure you are well prepared to take on deliveries straight away when the game launches, we've gathered frequently asked questions and answers in this article. You'll also find the contents of this FAQ GUIDE on the Steam Community. We will continue to update the guide there with new details once available.

The PC version of DEATH STRANDING 2: ON THE BEACH launches worldwide on March 19 at 7:30 AM PT / 14:30 GMT / 15:30 CET / 23:30 JST.

We recommend 150 GB of SSD storage space to ensure adequate space is available to download and install the game. At launch, the install size on Steam is around 115 GB. Installing additional voice-over languages increases the install size.

We intend to make a pre-load available on Steam in the days before launch on March 19. Stay tuned for a pre-load announcement closer to launch.

It is not possible to transfer your save data from the PS5 version to the PC version, or vice versa.

There is no requirement to have played DEATH STRANDING prior to starting DEATH STRANDING 2: ON THE BEACH. The in-game story recap covers all the key characters and events you should know before continuing Sam’s journey.

If you want to dive deeper into the world of DEATH STRANDING, you can pause the game at any time (even during cutscenes) to check the Corpus. This in-game guide keeps you up to speed on terminology, characters, and events that you’ll encounter on the way.

No. It is completely optional. Sign in with your account for PlayStation to gain access to the PlayStation overlay to earn PlayStation Trophies, access your Friends lists, settings and player profile. Porters who connect their account also get unique in-game design patches for backpack customization and an exclusive suit inspired by the PlayStation logo.

DEATH STRANDING 2: ON THE BEACH for PC offers a range of Graphics Presets from Low to Very High, catering to both budget gaming PC’s and high-end systems. We’ve also added a Portable preset, aimed at handheld gaming devices, for those Porters who want to "keep on keeping on” while on the go!

DEATH STRANDING 2: ON THE BEACH for PC requires a processor with support for AVX and F16C instruction sets. Most CPUs up from 2012 are supported.

The game launches with NVIDIA DLSS 4, AMD FSR 4 and Intel XeSS 2. Both upscaling and frame generation are available for all these technologies. You'll also find PICO as an option in Upscale Settings. This “Progressive Image Compositor” is developed by Guerrilla for the DECIMA engine and is the same upscaling technology that's used for DEATH STRANDING 2: ON THE BEACH on PS5.

Yes. You can combine the various upscaling and frame generation options that are supported by your hardware to your own liking. For example: NVIDIA DLSS upscaling can be combined with AMD FSR or Intel XeSS frame generation.

The PC version of DEATH STRANDING 2: ON THE BEACH has full support for Steam Input, Xbox and PlayStation controllers, including DualSense support with haptic feedback and adaptive triggers (wired connection is required to use all DualSense features).

DEATH STRANDING 2: ON THE BEACH is an open-world action-adventure game, played from a third-person perspective, where the player must deliver cargo, overcome enemies both human and otherworldly, explore a post-apocalyptic world by foot and vehicle, and piece together a complex and compelling sci-fi story.

DEATH STRANDING 2: ON THE BEACH features the Social Strand System, which supports asynchronous multiplayer in the same way as the original game. Actions of other players, such as the creation of roads or structures and the routes they have travelled, will become visible and useable to the player once they have successfully connected areas of the map.

Yes, you will see activity from both PS5 and PC players. DEATH STRANDING 2: ON THE BEACH for PC uses the same servers as the PS5 version.

DEATH STRANDING 2: ON THE BEACH is developed by KOJIMA PRODUCTIONS, based in Tokyo. The game is produced, designed and directed by world-renowned game creator Hideo Kojima, with character and mecha designs by Yoji Shinkawa, action direction by Yuji Shimomura and music composed by French singer-songwriter Woodkid and Ludvig Forssell. DEATH STRANDING 2: ON THE BEACH is optimized for PC by Nixxes Software and published by PlayStation.

DEATH STRANDING 2: ON THE BEACH features a cast of well-known acting talent including Norman Reedus as Sam, Troy Baker as Higgs, Elle Fanning as Tomorrow, Shioli Kutsuna as Rainy, Léa Seydoux as Fragile and Luca Marinelli as Neil.

The game also features appearances from Ma Dong-seok, Alissa Jung, George Miller, Nicolas Winding Refn, Guillermo del Toro and many others.
