After detailing his ideas for the game's direction, including making WoW 2 (that worked out great for Overwatch) and adding more Lich King lore, he's stated that the original game was so successful because the developers were "dedicated" and that you need to "give [your job] a lot of your life" in order to make a great MMORPG or expansion.
