Dice Summit will honor the life and legacy of Vince Zampella
The Dice Summit will honor the life and legacy of Vince Zampella, the co-creator of Call of Duty and a leader of Electronic Arts’ Battlefield and Star Wars franchises. He died in a car crash in December. Honoring the life and legacy of Vince Zampella, this D.I.C.E. Summit session celebrates a creative visionary whose groundbreaking work will resonate for decades to come. Through a series of talks from colleagues and friends, including Geoff Keighley (Creator, The Game Awards), Phil Spencer (CEO, Microsoft Gaming), Todd Howard (Game Director & Executive Producer, Bethesda Game Studios), and Laura Miele (President, EA Entertainment & Central Development, Electronic Arts). There will also be video messages from industry voices around the world, the session reflects on Vince’s inspirations, generosity, personality, and the indelible mark he left on entertainment, the game industry, the teams he worked with, and the hundreds of millions of players whose lives were touched by his games. Zampella was cofounder and the former studio head of Infinity Ward, the head of Respawn Entertainment, and the former CEO of Ripple Effect Studios. He was most recently executive vice president of Electronic Arts. The Dice Summit takes place in Las Vegas from February 10 to early February 13. It’s one of my favorite events in the game industry and I haven’t missed one yet. I’m very glad they’re doing this, as I also knew Zampella for decades and always admired how he stood up for gamers.
