Dataminers Uncover Five Possible DLC Characters for Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls

Now that Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls is officially out in the wild, dataminers have wasted no time digging through the game’s files, and they’ve found some interesting heroes mentioned within them. Marvel’s latest fighting game has had quite a week. After stuttering issues plagued the PC version upon launch, Arc System Works was quick to implement a fix, turning the tide of public opinion from dismal to delighted. Many blamed these PC problems on Arc System Works’ anti-datamining measures, which seem to have paid off; one reputable source claimed they couldn’t find much, crediting the developer for their efforts in ‘cleaning up’ the game’s data. In other comments, they said they haven’t come across anything new regarding upcoming costumes or DLC spoilers — but they did mention that they’ve seen assets for a future battle pass, and warned players to “get ready” for what’s next. btw, there's not much to datamine out of tokon in terms of unreleased content (thank god). arcsys has gotten really good about cleaning up in the last few yearsthe one thing i did find is battle pass assets, so uh. get ready lol— Ryn ????️‍⚧️ (@WistfulHopes) August 11, 2026 Notable datamining group X0XLEAK also chimed in with some discoveries, specifically mentioning five heroes they supposedly discovered during their excursion into Tokon’s files: Doctor Strange, Wasp, Gambit, The Thing, and Daredevil. Their post also mentioned that these are "possible prototype/future characters" that are “subject to change," adding more confusion and speculation onto the subject. Given their description as potential prototype or DLC characters, it stands to reason that these aren't background assets, like some of the nonplayable heroes we've seen dotting Tokon's various stages. Whatever the case may be, the mere mention of these names in Tokon’s data has stirred up a heated discussion on social media. Many players are arguing that the only truly unique addition to this roster is Wasp, noting that all the other characters on the list are already playable in Marvel Rivals. For example, Tokon boasts a far wider variety of true-blue villains in Carnage, Dr. Doom, and Green Goblin. It’s also got a deep cut in Danger, giving the Mutant her first-ever fully playable role in a video game. For now, it’s anyone’s guess as to who’ll appear in Tokon next, but we did get some information regarding future DLC characters at San Diego Comic Con this year. During a panel, it was revealed that Phoenix Cyclops will be the next character to join the fray, leading a team with as-yet unknown members (though it’s likely we see more members of the Phoenix Force). Cyclops comes to Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls in Fall 2026. Until then, you can read our glowing review of the game, which IGN’s own Mitchell Saltzman scored a 9 out of 10.
