Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2 Sets Fall 2026 Release With First Look at 4 New Characters
Netflix has revealed first character details and a fall release window for its anime sequel series, Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2. Netflix, CD Projekt Red, and Studio Trigger took to X/Twitter to roll out information about the new cast of characters coming to Season 2 of the Cyberpunk 2077 anime spin-off. It came with the promise of a fall 2026 release window, narrowing down its premiere timeline as fans await a more specific release date. Meanwhile, the announcement came with a sneak peek at four new characters: Weak Kingsley, D, Roman Carax, and Talia Yang. The new gang graces the cover of the first Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2 poster, which you can see below. Netflix published information about the four new Night City names across social media and in collaboration with various content creators. As shared via Crunchyroll, Weak Kingsley is described as a veteran Edgerunner who "now lives in the shadow of his former glory." D is a Snack Nation Netrunner looking for revenge as he "hunts the killer who wiped out his clan." Roman Carax is the youngest of the group and is described as a "cinephile in search of real stories in a city that abandoned cinema for braindances." Finally, there's Talia Yang, an individual with corpo and Maelstrom ties whose "heart belongs to chrome and violence." Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2 is directed by Kai Ikarashi, with character designs handled by Kanno Ichigo. Original writers Bartosz Sztybor and Masahiko Otsuka are also back to work on Netflix and Trigger's sequel show. Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2 was officially announced in July of last year with a brief teaser trailer (above), which, if you look closely, seems to feature some of the characters featured in today's poster. A new teaser trailer will be revealed tomorrow at 8:30 a.m. PT / 11:30 a.m. ET, but don't expect a firm release date for at least a little while longer. "Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2 presents a new standalone 10-episode story from the world of Cyberpunk 2077— a raw chronicle of redemption and revenge," an official description for Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2 says. "In a city that thrives in the spotlight of violence, one question remains: when the world is blinded by spectacle, what extremes do you have to go to make your story matter?" For more on the world of Cyberpunk 2077, you can read about how the show's first season nearly included endings that were somehow worse than the one we got.
