Christopher Nolan's The Odyssey Gets Official Roblox Tie-In Game

Christopher Nolan's The Odyssey now has an official Roblox tie-in game, which you can play right now. If you want to experience Odysseus' journey yourself, fire up Roblox right now. The new free-to-play game, known as The Odyssey: Defy the Gods, allows you to sail across the ocean with friends while scavenging for supplies and solving puzzles. The game claims to have a "new ocean" with every voyage, suggesting it may be procedrually generated or have dynamic elements to it. There are storms and whirpools that will make your journey more challenging, as well. The Roblox companion game is for ages 18 or older, due to violence and "fear," according to the game's official rating. This likely won't come as a major surprise given The Odyssey is an R-rated film, but nevertheless, it's a fun way to build some excitement for one of the biggest films of the summer. Previously, films like Black Adam and the live-action remake of How to Train Your Dragon have used UGC Roblox games to help market their theatrical releases. UGC seems to be a big part of Hollywood's marketing strategy and has even extended to other games like Fortnite. As for The Odyssey, the film is just a few weeks away. The highly anticipated film is Christopher Nolan's first movie since he swept at the Oscars in 2023 for Oppenheimer. It's believed he essentially got a blank check to adapt Homer's epic and has spared no expense in bringing it all to life. The nearly three hour long film boasts a star-studded cast, including Matt Damon, Tom Holland, Robert Pattinson, Zendaya, Anne Hathaway, Jon Bernthal, and many, many others. Tickets for The Odyssey are currently on sale, but if you want to check it out in 70MM IMAX, it might be a bit tricky. Tickets for the film's intended format sold out pretty quickly, but IMAX has been extending showings through August to ensure more people will have the opportunity to see it the way Nolan intended.
