Bulbasaur is hosting a jump rope contest in Pokopia, and yes, there are stakes

Mark your calendars, Pokopia fans. The game's next big limited-time event now has a date, and it stars the OG Grass Starter, Bulbasaur The limited-time event, called Bulbausar's Jump Rope Contest, kicks off on April 19 and will run until April 26 at 4:59am local time. As its name suggests, the event revolves around Bulbasaur's jump rope mini game, and prizes will be awarded based on players' scores. To earn points, you have to jump over Bulbasaur's vine jump rope without getting tripped up. While the event is live, players can compete alongside others in their worlds or on Cloud Islands in a multiplayer version of the event. "In another player’s world, both the host and guests can participate in the jump rope contest, including those playing in spectator mode," the event's official page reads. "The highest number of jumps recorded by any participating player will become that world’s high score, but only the host will receive prizes." Have you brushed up on your jump rope skills? Image via Nintendo Cloud Islands will work a little bit differently. All players on the island can participate, but the highest number of jumps by any participant will be attributed to the Cloud Island's high score. Only the player who logged that number of jumps will earn prizes. Though we don't currently know the full list of prizes available for players, we do know there will be a trophy for players to earn that they can then put on their islands to prove their skill. Though Pokopia's next limited-time event doesn't officially begin until April 19, you can start the festivities early by setting your Nintendo Switch 2's internal clock to the date through its console settings. If you're wanting to practice your jumping skills before it begins, though, you can currently try out Bulbasaur's jump rope mini game by talking to the Grass Starter. Pokopia's last limited-time event that introduced a new item to the game was the April Fools' Day event with the Inflatable Sudowoodo decoration. Before that, Hoppip, Skiploom, and Jumpluff made their debut in the life-sim with the "More Spores for Hoppip" event that introduced a host of themed items for the evolution line. According to data-mined info, the next event after Bulbasaur's will introduce Sableye and will require players to collect a new currency from Dream Islands much like Hoppip's Cotton Spores.
