Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced now lets you save the stranded dog, as Ubisoft fixes the greatest crime in the whole game

If you've done a healthy amount of sailing around in Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced, you may have noticed a dog stuck on one of the disparate islands you encounter across the Caribbean. Until now you could only pet the pooch, without helping them get off their water-locked home, but a new update has remedied this disastrous situation. Now, if you go to this little piece of land, sitting at 624,50, and you pet the canine wanderer - which you should always be doing regardless - they'll transport right over to Edward's hideout in Grand Inagua. How nice and convenient, right? They're accompanied by a little letter, explaining how they managed to suddenly become experts of the seven seas. Another captain discovered the furry friend, and decided to take them aboard. You can now save the stranded dog in Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced!???? Head on to 624,50???? Pet the dog???? The dog will appear at the Great Inagua Hideout, in Edward's room at the villa???? You can also find a letter on how he got there!— @accesstheanimus.com (@accesstheanimus.com.bsky.social) 2026-09-01T16:46:07.734Z At first, the plan was for the dog to live on that boat, but this particular caninus maximus wants to be by your side. Once they reached port at Grand Inagua, they leapt off to wherever their nose was taking them. Directly to your belongings, it seems, where it stays forevermore. Beautiful - I am always looking for more dogs to pet, and it's a distinct upgrade to now have one in my quarters. Assassination can sometimes be a lonely occupation, and it's made less so when I can have snuggles with this wee friend whenever I like. Access the Animus posted a complete clip of finding the dog, and then the letter, as you can see above. It's smile-inducing. I would've liked the option to take the little compadre in myself on my ship, but you can't always have everything. For now, at least – Ubisoft, I have one demand for the next Assassin's Creed game.
