Shift Into High Gear with Drift Attack!

There is always something new to discover in Forza Horizon 6. New themed series updates each month introduce fresh weekly events and challenges to complete with rewards you can obtain from the Festival Playlist. Now's the perfect time to jump into our latest series, Horizon Mascot Party and set your fastest lap time at the temporary new Time Attack Circuit! 

To celebrate gamescom, today we're revealing what’s next for Forza Horizon 6. Keep your seatbelts fastened, turn off traction control and get ready for lots of oversteer and tire smoke as you perfect your drifting techniques in a new Shared World experience coming next month at the Horizon Festival that we're calling Drift Attack! Rock up to the Shimanoyama Circuit, drive through the gantry directly from the open world with no loading and show off your drifting skills to get the highest score! 

What's more, we're also working on a special collaboration with 7-Eleven, Inc. Inspired by your suggestions on the Forza Feedback Portal, we're bringing a 7-Eleven Evolving World and EventLab Content Pack to Forza Horizon 6, and we'll have more to share about these additions when they release alongside the October series update.  

In the meantime, players going to gamescom can stop by the XBOX booth to check out special Forza Horizon 6 experiences, including early hands-on with Drift Attack and the opportunity to photograph a unique vehicle on display that is wrapped in a 7-Eleven livery. Meanwhile, over at the LEGO® booth you will find LEGO® Technic™ cars! 

If you're not planning to be at gamescom, then worry not, as we have all the details you need to know about Drift Attack. 

Drift Attack is a new feature coming to Forza Horizon 6 in our next series update that is set to release on September 7. This new experience combines the freedom and accessibility of Drift Zones with the intensity and competitiveness of Horizon Drift. Drift Attack complements the other Shared World features in the game, including Car Meets, Drag Meets and Time Attack Circuits, with no loading and no friction – it all happens directly from the open world.  

In fact, you can think of Drift Attack as a Time Attack for drifters! Instead of setting the fastest lap times however, you’ll be aiming to score the highest number of drift points, whether you’re sliding sideways by yourself, as part of a Convoy or alongside other players who you’ve met in the Shared World.   

Once released, you will be able to find Drift Attack with its unique map icon at the Shimanoyama Circuit, which is being transformed into a permanent Drift Attack circuit. Just like in Time Attack, you can initiate a Drift Attack by driving through the gantry.  

Points are earned by drifting along the track in the same way they are in Horizon Drift and at Drift Zones. However, one key difference here is the addition of Clipping Zones, which are positioned around the drift arena. These will boost any points that you earn if a drift is performed while the car is within the boundaries of the Clipping Zone. There’s no limit to how many laps you can run, so keep going! 

Similar to Time Attack Circuits and Drag Meets, Drift Attack will have the full functionality of in-world and Convoy Leaderboards with the addition of Drivetrains against each Drift Attack leaderboard entry in the menu leaderboard options. Drift Attack will also be integrated into the Horizon Festival Campaign, where you can unlock a brand new fully customized Forza Edition car, ideal for drifting: the 1990 Jaguar XJ-S Forza Edition. A stock version of this car is also being added to the Autoshow for players to purchase. 

Drift Attack is unlocked by obtaining the Yellow Wristband at the Horizon Festival. While the Drift Attack arena at Shimanoyama Circuit will be permanent, we also plan to introduce Evolving World Drift Attacks in future series updates. 

The next Forza Horizon 6 update isn't just for the drifters! The Horizon Festival will be throwing a British Automotive celebration starting on September 10, and you're invited to participate! Join in the festivities with a full British Automotive Takeover at the dealership – where you can score some great deals on both rare and iconic British cars. There will also be 3 British new-to-Horizon cars available to earn in the Festival Playlist, and players who have purchased Car Pass can look forward to 4 new-to-Horizon cars being added to their garages.
