[Notice] Thank You & A Message from PD Max
Hello, this is PD Max.Despite many twists and turns, we were able to officially launch GunZ Remastered, and I am truly grateful to be able to greet you all today.Truthfully, the journey to servicing GunZ Remastered was far more difficult and took much longer than we initially anticipated. We have been preparing through the Steam platform to reintroduce GunZ to our global users. Initially, our goal was to bring GunZ back as quickly as possible rather than spending a long time in preparation. However, as we began preparations, we realized something we had overlooked.GunZ is a game with a long history, and the experience and understanding of the game possessed by the users who have played and protected it for so long were far deeper than we expected. Consequently, preparing for the service required much more time than originally planned.Around the time of the 1st beta test, we thought we were somewhat ready and would soon be able to prepare for the official launch. But during the Beta Test, we faced another major hurdle. At that time, massive network attacks began targeting Masangsoft’s other game services, and intensive attacks were particularly aimed at the Korean GunZ service. To counter these attacks targeting various vulnerabilities in the GunZ servers, we had to re-examine our server architecture and defense systems from scratch.Ultimately, we determined that it would be difficult to provide a stable global service on Steam with the server structure we had at the time. Subsequently, we invested a lot of time in continuously improving the server structure and building defense systems. Through a total of 5 betas, we identified and resolved various issues one by one. Of course, I cannot say it is perfect even now. However, through that process, we were able to reach the official launch, and I would like to take this opportunity to express my sincere gratitude to our developers who worked tirelessly day and night. And finally, we reopened the highly anticipated GunZ on Steam. However, as expected, malicious packet attacks and large-scale DDoS attacks targeting server vulnerabilities ensued immediately upon launch, resulting in highly unstable service for the first few days. I am truly sorry to the users who were unable to connect or play the game normally during this time. You waited a long time for GunZ to open, and it breaks our hearts and fills us with regret that we couldn't provide a stable service at the very moment you were waiting for.Currently, by continuously upgrading our firewalls and server defense systems, we have improved them to a level where we can stably respond to most attacks, and critical issues have largely been resolved. From now on, we believe it is our duty to repay your long wait with a more stable and better service.I would also like to address a few issues that many of you are currently curious and concerned about.Connection and Crash IssuesWe know that many users are still experiencing connection difficulties due to network issues or frequent crashes during gameplay. We are currently treating this as our absolute top priority and formed the TF team to identify the causes one by one.Additionally, we will operate a separate forum channel on Discord to share more detailed information about connection and crash issues and to actively review your reports. Every small piece of information you leave us is a huge help in resolving the problem. We understand it takes extra effort, but providing detailed information when these issues occur will greatly help our development team investigate them thoroughly.Regarding Hack/Cheat UsersResponding to hackers is also an area we consider extremely important. We are actively responding through various cheat detection systems currently in place, and we will continue to strengthen these systems moving forward. If you come across any players suspected of hacking, please report them. Providing supporting evidence such as video clips, match context, or details about the specific tools used will help us take swift and accurate action.Regarding AI-Generated ArtI also want to address the concerns many of you have raised regarding AI-generated art.We initially adopted AI to help streamline our development. However, we've come to realize that we didn't fully consider how this would impact the classic GunZ vibe and your expectations as long-time fans.Currently, AI is only used in a limited capacity—such as initial concept brainstorming, banners, and ads. The vast majority of our in-game resources are directly created by our dedicated artists and partner studios. While I cannot promise to completely eliminate AI from every future art process, we will continuously review and improve any content that feels out of place or causes concern for our community. Our priority will always be to preserve the distinct feel of GunZ and to meet the expectations you hold for the game. The Future of GunZLooking ahead, we are actively working on the Leagues, Clan Wars, and Tournaments
Hello, this is PD Max.
Despite many twists and turns, we were able to officially launch GunZ Remastered, and I am truly grateful to be able to greet you all today.
Truthfully, the journey to servicing GunZ Remastered was far more difficult and took much longer than we initially anticipated. We have been preparing through the Steam platform to reintroduce GunZ to our global users. Initially, our goal was to bring GunZ back as quickly as possible rather than spending a long time in preparation.
However, as we began preparations, we realized something we had overlooked.
GunZ is a game with a long history, and the experience and understanding of the game possessed by the users who have played and protected it for so long were far deeper than we expected. Consequently, preparing for the service required much more time than originally planned.
Around the time of the 1st beta test, we thought we were somewhat ready and would soon be able to prepare for the official launch. But during the Beta Test, we faced another major hurdle. At that time, massive network attacks began targeting Masangsoft’s other game services, and intensive attacks were particularly aimed at the Korean GunZ service.
To counter these attacks targeting various vulnerabilities in the GunZ servers, we had to re-examine our server architecture and defense systems from scratch.
Ultimately, we determined that it would be difficult to provide a stable global service on Steam with the server structure we had at the time.
You waited a long time for GunZ to open, and it breaks our hearts and fills us with regret that we couldn't provide a stable service at the very moment you were waiting for.
Currently, by continuously upgrading our firewalls and server defense systems, we have improved them to a level where we can stably respond to most attacks, and critical issues have largely been resolved. From now on, we believe it is our duty to repay your long wait with a more stable and better service.
I would also like to address a few issues that many of you are currently curious and concerned about.
Connection and Crash Issues
We know that many users are still experiencing connection difficulties due to network issues or frequent crashes during gameplay. We are currently treating this as our absolute top priority and formed the TF team to identify the causes one by one.
Additionally, we will operate a separate forum channel on Discord to share more detailed information about connection and crash issues and to actively review your reports. Every small piece of information you leave us is a huge help in resolving the problem. We understand it takes extra effort, but providing detailed information when these issues occur will greatly help our development team investigate them thoroughly.
Regarding Hack/Cheat Users
Responding to hackers is also an area we consider extremely important. We are actively responding through various cheat detection systems currently in place, and we will continue to strengthen these systems moving forward.
If you come across any players suspected of hacking, please report them. Providing supporting evidence such as video clips, match context, or details about the specific tools used will help us take swift and accurate action.
Regarding AI-Generated Art
I also want to address the concerns many of you have raised regarding AI-generated art.
We initially adopted AI to help streamline our development. However, we've come to realize that we didn't fully consider how this would impact the classic GunZ vibe and your expectations as long-time fans.
Currently, AI is only used in a limited capacity—such as initial concept brainstorming, banners, and ads.
The Future of GunZ
Looking ahead, we are actively working on the Leagues, Clan Wars, and Tournaments that so many of you have been waiting for. We will be sharing more details on these soon, alongside continuous updates for new quests and game modes. We are also planning more community events for everyone to enjoy. Our ultimate goal is to see GunZ thrive on the esports stage, and we are committed to taking this journey with you.
Additionally, we know many of you are curious about our core monetization model, “GunZ Plus” which will be revealed soon. We are designing it to offer great value at a fair price, but most importantly, we want to assure you that there will be absolutely zero Pay-to-Win (P2W) elements. You have my word on that.
To the GunZ Community
Above all, we are deeply grateful just to have made it this far. Up until now, I believed I was doing my best to communicate with you, but looking back, I realize I haven't done enough. I find myself reflecting on the fact that I let various reasons and excuses get in the way of truly connecting with you.
But if there is one thing I must emphasize, it’s this: the biggest reason GunZ was able to return is all of you. Thank you from the bottom of my heart to everyone who never forgot about the game during the long years it was offline, and who offered so much feedback and support during this relaunch. The truth is, we didn't just rebuild GunZ on our own. I believe we were only able to rebuild it because you kept its spirit alive for all these years.
Moving forward, we promise to communicate more actively and shape the future of GunZ together with you. Honestly, the language barrier has been a real challenge for us. Although we have staff members who speak native-level English, we haven't always been able to communicate with our global players fast enough. Despite this, our GMs, PMs, and developers are working day and night, doing their absolute best to listen to your voices.
From now on, we will continuously monitor various channels to hear your opinions and communicate with you. We will carefully read every piece of feedback you leave and build the new GunZ together.
We have the utmost respect and gratitude for how you have kept GunZ alive all these years. To prove our sincerity, we promise to listen better, communicate more, and pour our hearts into developing the game.
We will do everything in our power so that one day, you can truly say, “I'm so glad GunZ is back.”
Thank you for taking the time to read this.
And once again, thank you for keeping the faith and waiting for GunZ’s return.
Max
