Death Stranding 2 bridges the gap between PC and console

Death Stranding 2: On the Beach, the long-awaited sequel to the first Strand-type game, is finally building a bridge between console and PC. Set to drop on March 19, Death Stranding 2 will let players complete the saga of Sam Bridges, a man caught up in a mysterious and strange world where the line between life and death has been erased. This was announced during Sony's first 2026 State of Play, airing at the time of this article. Kojima Productions initially launched the game last summer as the final entry (so far) into the Death Stranding story. It picks up some time after the end of the first game and follows Sam Bridges as he travels across the Land Down Under, connecting Australia to the Chiral Network and establishing a link between it and what remains of the rest of the world. Death Stranding 2 is one of the best stories ever told in video games, much like the first gamer was. Image via Sony Death Stranding 2 is more cinematic and epic in scale, focusing on gameplay over cutscenes that had become Kojima's staple in prior games. Our Sr. Staff Writer, Scott Duwe, gave it a 9 out of 10, highlighting the game's incredible emotional impact, refined gameplay, and incredible graphical fidelity that set it apart from most games released in 2025, and certainly from PlayStation 5 titles. It's one of the best games I have ever played, and while it's not as revolutionary or culturally impactful as the first one, it's still a sight to behold, refining Kojima's storytelling formula that should become the staple of video game narratives. Death Stranding 2: On the Beach launches on PC on March 19 after a period of PS5 exclusivity that the first game adhered to as well.
