Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War IV’s release date, pre-order & DLC plans confirmed
Hi everyone, We’re thrilled to announce that Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War IV launches on PC this September 17th! As well as confirming the release date, we’re also excited to share details of the different game editions we’re launching with, both of which are available to pre-order right now. Launch day is just the beginning of our plans for Dawn of War IV, so in this update we’ve also prepared an early look at the free and paid DLC drops coming to the game in the year after launch. Standard & Commander EditionsWe’ve prepared two editions of Dawn of War IV for the game’s launch on September 17th. Both are available to pre-order now.Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War IV - Standard EditionThe Standard Edition of Dawn of War IV includes the base game and is available to pre-order now with a 10% discount.Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War IV - Commander EditionThe Commander Edition is also available to pre-order with the same 10% discount, as well as a 3-Day Early Unlock!Choose this edition and you’ll be able to sink your teeth into the game starting September 14th.The Commander Edition also includes both of the paid DLCs we’ve got planned for the game’s first year (more on these in a moment), as well as the game’s glorious digital soundtrack.Post Launch Plans - Free & Paid DLCLaunch day is just the start of the journey we have in store for Dawn of War IV.While we can’t share many of the finer details quite yet, we’re committed to supporting the game long-term, with plans for a selection of both paid and free DLC updates throughout our Year One Expansion.Free DLCBeginning Fall 2026 through to Spring 2027, we’ll be launching the Crusade mode, new map packs, a mission editor, and new Commander scenarios for Last Stand and Crusade - completely free of charge.Premium DLCAs for our premium DLC plans, we’re preparing a pair of meaty content drops that will flesh out the world of Dawn of War IV even further.Paid DLC #1: The Blood Ravens Story PrologueFirst up will be the Blood Ravens Story Prologue, which sheds further light on the events leading up to the start of Dawn of War IV’s explosive campaign. As that story begins, our bruised and battered Blood Ravens are limping to Kronus in the hopes of bolstering their ranks from their old Recruiting World.Meanwhile, as told in the Story Prologue DLC, a new strike force of Blood Ravens are on their way to Aurelia with their own plans for rebuilding their bloodied Chapter.Paid DLC #2: AftermathLater, our Aftermath DLC is set to deepen the campaign even further - and introduce an entirely new faction to Dawn of War IV too. The Dawn of War series has a long history of delivering new factions after launch, but we think it’s right to keep this particular surprise up our sleeves for now.Let’s just say that by the time you’ve finished with the game’s blockbuster campaign, there’ll be plenty of scope for speculation on who might benefit the most from Kronus’ new world order. Both of these premium DLCs will be available to purchase separately, but don’t forget that owners of the Commander Edition receive both the free and paid DLCs as part of their purchase.
